I got a date!!!

I finally got a date for my plastic surgery consultation. I can not wait. My dr. says I need a trunk lift. Has anyone else been told they needed one or has had one? Delainya 321/166/150

Delainya, Are you by chance talking about a lower body lift? I heard a plastic surgeon speak at a support group meeting. He did quite a few of those on WLS post-ops. It allowed the tummy, midrifts, buttocks etc to all be done during the same operation. They literally turn the patient during the surgery (he showed us slides of it) to do the full area. It was quite amazing. Delainya, That's wonderful news! It will be nice to look as good as you feel. I just called and got a consult date myself, but I have to wait until JUNE just to get in for a consult. I'm certain that insurance will cover a breast reduction, but I'm not so sure about the skin on my belly. I'm hoping they're good with insurance and can tie my neck and upper back pain to all the bouncing skin in the front when I run. I'll have to see if I can get it all done at once so all I'll have to pay is the difference for the panni if that can't be covered. On a brighter note, since I have to wait until June, maybe I'll lose another 5 pounds by then so I'll have lost 100#. Linn

I just got my consult date. 2/15/05 I'm hoping to get BCBS to cough up some more money for the skin removal. I have been having recurrent skin infections in my belly area, so I'm hoping that will at least get my foot in the door for insurance approval. I wish you the best of luck. I need a breast reduction, tummy tuck, upper arms & thighs. I am still having to wear 36 D bras whcih are too big because I need 34D & could probably get into a 32D. It is hard enough to find the 36's--34's are nearly impossible & I haven't even tried for a 32. GOOD LUCK!!!! 315/170/145
