hello all my fellow februarys....i can't belive it is close to one year since my surgery of 2/23/2004. Things have been pretty wonderful. I went through a 6 to 8 week plateau that finally broke and i went from about 163 to 149 as of this morning. I am wearing a size 8/10 in most pants and small/medium tops.... sooooo please don't give up for those of you who are still dealing with those nasty plateaus. It will kick in again if you go back to basics. For me i upped my water and added two protein drinks a day. I did this for the first 6 months and then because of the added cost I stopped.... Hope everyone is doing well and my new pic should be posted soon. Kelly

Oh, I'm so happy for your Kelly. Those plateaus can be very discouraging. I've been fighting the same two or three pounds since November. You give me hope! Can't wait to see your new pic. I'm hoping to have my before and "after in progress" pics posted next week. I dream of the day I can say I wear 8/10! Right now I'm in a 12 and happy to be there, but 8/10 would be even better. Congratulations, Kelly! My surgery was on the 25th, just two days after yours. I'm at 194 lbs and in a size 14 which is a miracle in itself. Thank you for being such a wonderful person all this time. You have given more hope and kindness to many than I have (to my shame). God bless you! Love, Katherine

You are doing GREAT!!!! It does seem impossible that we are almost at the one year mark. We, all, have accomplished so much and come so far. Mary

Thank you all for the nice replys. We are all doing great! I don't get out on the Boards much since my home computer is not working. Has anyone heard from Debbie? She used to be on all the time but the last several times i have been out here lurking I have not seen her. Kelly

Hey there Denise! It has been a year hasn't it? About the most wonderful year of my life hands down. I am excited about my picture being up also. I hope it will be soon, though i know the volunteers are busy and it will take a few weeks. The picture I am posting is from between Thanksgiving and Christmas during the awful stall/plateau/whatever the hek you wanna call it So i have lost a bit more since then and went from the 12/14 to 8/10s..... My sis in law has been taking pictures of me every 3 months so i will be due for more pics in February.

Can't wait to see new pictures of you and Denise. Mary and Linda's new pictures are great! Linda, I LOVE your photo album...it's so much fun to look through and watch you change. I need to have a new picture taken. The one that shows on my profile was 45 lbs. ago. As a side note, I think I look a bit older now that I'm thinner (not that I'd rather go back). Anyone else finding that? Julie

Julie, I know what you mean about looking older. I guess having a full face helped hide the wrinkles.....my BF is 2 years older than me and when he was showing some pics of us at work his coworkers asked him how much older I was than he!!!! speaking of Debbie (D.K.)...i just saw a post of hers on the main board and dropped her a note. So she is still alive and kicking! I was out running errands at lunch and ran into a friend I hadn't seen for about 7 months. I said hi, she said hi and walked right on past me...i just stopped and waited for it.......about 5 seconds later i heard a big squeal and turned around laughing.....she didn't recognize me. I told her I get that a lot lately so i usually just wait until it registers with people! I have a visitation to attend tomorrow night of the uncle of a good friend. So i will see a lot of high school friends. can't wait to see the reaction!!!
