Feeling Hungry?

I am still not feeling hungry yet. What i do feel is this "lightheaded, out of energy, need fuel" feeling and thats how I know when it is time to eat. I try not to let it get to that point, but it happens quicker than usual sometimes so its hard to avoid. Is anyone else feeling this way? Is anyone actually feeling hungry? When did it start? TIA! Rachel.......I do get hungry. My system is back to normal as far as hunger goes. I get just as hungry as I did before the surgery, but it doesn't take as much to fill me up. My hunger pangs came back about three months after my surgery. Maybe its just taking your system longer to adjust. You may want to ask your doctor about it. Wanda 256/179/140

Rachel, My body shows me the same way it shows you when you NEED to eat. Unfortunately, I think by the time we feel it that it's too late. I know I'm getting hypoglycemic by then. I have to be very vigilant, especially as I'm running more miles training for this race, to eat regularly scheduled meals and/or snacks or I can have real problems. What you're describing tells me you need to eat more at a time, if possible, or just more often. I think it will help you feel better all day. I still don't feel hunger like I did pre-op. I expected to by about 6 months out, but I don't yet either. Linn

I actually get hungry most days. I have found that if I go beyond 4 hours in between meals that I really don't feel great, so I carry a protein bar with me at all times just in case. Also carry water with me too. Have you had your lab work done recently? The lightheaded, out of energy etc. may also be caused by something other than hunger. Would be worth asking your doctor about. I started having the hunger/smell return about 6 or 7 months. I was pretty ticked about it at first. Then realized that I still had the choice of to eat or not to eat and to make good food choices. I keep protein shakes with me at all times since i am one of the weird people who likes the premade slimfast and advantage shakes Somedays I can eat more than others. I recently broke up with the man i had been dating and one of my first thoughts was "ohhhnooo i will probably gain weight"..since in the past I would eat for emotional reasons. I actually have lost 7 pounds in the last week...which means along with breaking a reallyyyy long plateau means that maybe i am learning to not eat when i am sad or stressed cause i had no appetite at all for the last several days. Kelly day of surgery 281 (highest weight of 301), current weight 158 and in a size 10/12...YEHHHHHH
