Hi Ladies, I was wondering, how much does everyone eat now? I haven't been watching my eating too much because I am so busy with the wedding stuff. But I'll give it a try: B: 1 cup farina (cream of wheat) with splenda and cinnamon and raisins L: usually either a protein bar or a chicken wrap on low carb mission tortillas. Yes I can eat the whole thing sometimes. D: usually some meat, about 6 oz and some veggies, about 1/2 to 1 cup S: either yogurt with Kashi Go Lean protein cereal and low carb canned peaches or more farina (I'm hooked on the stuff) I still stay away from the breads. I have only lost 85lbs at 10 months out. But I am much happier with my life now. So now tell me what your usual menu consists of. Joanne -85

Hello Joanne, It is good to see that you are doing well. I feel that I sometimes eat too much in a day, but mostly have trouble with the snacking since I am back at work. I work in a doctor's office where people are constantly bringing in food and candy. We get free lunch at least two times a week but I try to just eat my Lean Cuisine meals. It is very difficult for me since I stopped loosing weight at my 7 month and have beeen trying to jump start my weight loss again by going to the gym and consuming more protein and water. The scale still has not moved down, but hopefully it will soon. My meals are as follows: B= 1 sgfree carnation protein drink S= 1 sgfree yogurt or sg free Dannon drinkable yogurt L= 1 lean cuisine meal D= soup, or low carb tortilla w/ pinto beans and chicken, or sometimes just vegetables I get my 64 ozor more of water I also have started drinking a mixable protein powder throughout the day. I have lost 60 pounds since the day of surgery and a total of 90 pounds since August 2003 I feel great, I have a lot less depression, I look better in pictures, and I can function easily without out much exhaustion. So overall I still think this surgery was successful, but I still have 30 pounds to loose until goal. If you have any suggestions of how to restart the weight loss let me know. Thanks, Lulu

I think you are doing great. When I wanted to start my weight loss again, I did protein drinks only for a few days. I used the Nectar fuzzy navel cause you mix it with water so you don't have the extra calories of the milk. It is 90 calories per drink. Seemed to work for me. Hey give it a shot, who knows????? Breakfast: 1/2 of a UTurn Bar + 1 oz of cheese Lunch: varies depending if I'm home or out 1/4 of a Subway sandwich (sometimes a little more protein) Dinner: about 1 cup of food I focus on protien plus a little bit of veggies Items used for Snacks which vary each day: protein bar if I'm under for the day (1/2 if UTurn bar, whole if Power Crunch or Mojo Mixed Nut bar). Maybe a handful of soy nuts. Once in a while a Healthy Choice fudge bar. 1/2 of an apple. Water, Water, Water ... LOL I've lost 74 lbs since surgery and 124 lbs total as of this morning. Mary

Nice to see you...I figured you were up to eyelashes in wedding details. I hope you're having a wonderful time. My menu changes frequently, but a typical one would include: b: 1/2 McDonald's breakfast burrito, a slim whey protein bar or a protein drink s: I keep almonds in my desk at work l: 1/2 turkey sandwich, occasionally a whopper jr (no top bun), wendy's chili, etc. s: some kind of fruit..I love apples, berries and bananas d: meat 3-5 ounces, some type of veggie - mostly green beans or salad and a couple bites of dessert (if we have one). According to fitday.com I stay between 1200-1500 calories a day most of the time and I've lost 96 pounds since surgery. I was having some trouble drinking while eating and found I was eating too much so I'm being VERY careful to not drink before or after eating and I think it's helping me eat less. ((hugs)) Julie

Julie, My surgeon's guidelines for drinking were: No fluids 15 minutes before eating. No fluids 30 minutes after eating. I only sip on water while eating IF the item is very dry. Mary

Now sometimes I waterload before eating. I told my surgeon and he said it was ok. I will have a tea after dinner and sip it ubtil it is gone. Unless of course I feel too full to begin with. Joanne

Ugh...I think I am eating too much compared to all of you. If I had just a protein bar for breakfast, I'd be hungry within 2 hours. Snacking is something that I try to avoid. Especially nuts cause I can eat quite a bit of them. But sometimes I will have a protein bar for a snack. I can eat about 5-6 oz of meat! But then I have very little else. Sometimes a veggie. Love butternut squash. Maybe that is why I am such a slow loser. I don't do well with my liquids and the protein. Bad me. I drink hit decaf tea all day but I don't think it adds up to 64 oz. I really need to start getting back to having my shakes. Joanne

Looks like everyone is doing great B: Protein shake 22grams protein powder w/ carb countdown milk 12 grams = 34 grams protein L: usually average 20 grams protein in form of chicken,or turkey and cheese roll ups w/ lettuce S: sugar free yogurt or nuts try to average around 7grams protein D: 3 oz meat, 1/4 - 1/2 cup vege 20 grams protein Bedtime; Glass of carb countdown milk 12 grams of protein I focus more on the protein we are required to get a min. of 60 gram in a day and I haven't done too bad I am at -111 lbs and have not been able to exercise for over 6 weeks because of a car accident. Because of our requirements for protein I have had very little hair loss also. Nancy

I wish I could say I was so dilagent(sp) with my protein. I just can't concentrate on it anymore. All I can think about now is the wedding. It is 2 weeks away!!!!!! I really need to start doing it tough. I do try to eat protein enriched foods (except the farina...I'm hooked on it) Wish I could somehow give it protein but it is very hot and that kills off the powdered protein. For 2 months I have not moved at all due to my broken back. I am still in a lot of pain but I am moving more and more. Joanne
