Reflections on Thanksgiving
I know that many of you will be having your turn around the Thanksgiving table, with what are you most thankful for. So, let's pretend we are around the table together, surrounded by other February 2004 WLS friends and the same question is posed to you.
On this day of Thanksgiving, 2004...what are you most thankful for?
Me first:
My health, always thankful for my health
My husband and daughter
My family and friends
My job, I love my job
The new Seinfeld DVD coming out and special on TV on Thanksgiving night
all my friends who have given me clothes
My growing back hair
This OH community
Have a great day, no matter how you decide to spend it.
Denise
What a lovely thing to do. It's easy to remember to be thankful for the big things, but so many little things go by every day without recognition.
Here goes.
* My new lease on life and health.
* My husband, who has loved me unfailingly the last 25 years, through both fat and thin.
* My kids and the rest of the family who mean so much to me.
* My friends, the real true ones, who love me unconditionally and set me straight then they need to.
* The two women *****turned our lost cell phone and my lost wallet (2 separate occurrences) this past week. God bless good people!
* The ability to cross my legs (it's soooo much fun!)
* The Salvation Army, Goodwill and other thrift stores...I LOVE you!
* This group of wonderful people. It's difficult for others to understand how much you come to care for people you've never met.
* The doctors who were supportive and encouraging.
* The new grandson we expect to welcome in late February 2005.
* A wonderful daughter in law - how lucky can you get?
* Life, in general. God promises "Life more abundantly" and this year has certainly been that and more.
* The opportunity to be a blessing and encouragement to someone else.
Have a wonderful holiday! I'll be thinking of you all when I celebrate Thanksgiving this year.
((Hugs))

Yesterday I reflected on all the people who gave me the foundation blocks to build a life upon. My parents and their parents, my sisters and friends, my in-laws who aren't just in-laws, and my husband who gave me the ambition, opportunity, and support to be the mother of five sons. I love Thanksgiving, it really gets overlooked in the race to Christmas.
This Thanksgiving I am most thankful for:
My mother is 91 and doing well.
My daughter Sheri who stepped up to the plate when I needed care.
My son Scott, daughter-in-law Nhi, and baby Tyler.
My health is soo much improved, off hypertension meds.
My good friend, Karen, who has been here for me always.
My birds, they keep me busy and smiling even when I'm depressed.
My family here at OH, esp. the wonderful members of the February Forum.
My surgeon, Dr. Ho.
My hair did not fall out. Knock on wood!!
I love my protein shakes!
My wonderful weight loss: 299/219/135/125 10# to goal Amazing.
I wish you all a happy Thanksgiving
Paula
I am thankful for my family, my health, and my life in general! This year has been such a rollercoaster that it seems as though it has flown by. I cannot believe that I am the person I am right now. I have changed so much physically and mentally with WLS. Who knew? Now I am waiting for the sun to come out so I can go for a run...this time last year I would have been already planning what to eat first. I am so thankful for my new attitude!
I wish everyone a wonderful and blessed Thanksgiving!
Liz
