I have noticed that this board has seemed really quiet recently, and I just thought I would throw out a question to see how many people are still out there.. What is everyone doing for thanksgiving? How do you think you are going to deal with all the inevitable food issues and people issues? I am going to GA, I am running away from all my problems no family, no food! Hope everyone has a great weekend, and Thanksgiving! xoxox Lee

Howdy Lee, I am HERRRRRREEEEEEE, Haha I noticed too the boards are very quiet. Not sure why though. I have been thinking about the Holidays and all the great yummy food for Turkey day. I decited that I will have mostley turkey and some yams, cranberry sause, maybe vegeis. This is the first Thanksgiving after my surgery and without my mother. It's going to be really rough actually all the holidays are. All my life she has always been around. I do have my own kids and hubby of 16 years but still the emptyness without her is horrid. If you go to a resturant have some Turkey dinner get a kid size and it should satisfy you. Enjoy and be strong Jill

we do thanksgiving with my family at my grandmothers house. it wont be awkward or anything for me - they are all facinated by my surgery and progress I will eat whatever i want and can chew well enough to swallow lol! i wont eat MUCH, but a few bites of whatever wont hurt. luckily my *wants* arent outrageous... ill have a tablespoon of mashed potatoes or sweet potatoes, some turkey if i can chew it well enough (i have a mental issue with chewing/swallowing, and the only meat i can chew well enough to swallow is chicken). my Grandmother is making a sugar free or low sugar cheesecake so ill probably have a few bites of a piece of that too! Im looking foward to the Holidays.. i LOVE the Holidays!! I hope you ALL have a fabulous Thanksgiving Rachel 270/157

My Thanksgiving is going to be just kind of low key. Suppose to go to the country, but things or plans have changed since some family have to work. I am cooking though and will do it on sunday though instead of thursday. It does not make since to cook 2 days in a week fully. We never have left overs so I know I will have to cook 2 days, so I am cooking just for sunday.

Lee, I have to work Thanksgiving Day so my children and I are celebrating on Wednesday. I am cooking all the works and my 11 and 13 yr. olds are helping. I told my family if they wanted to come by they were more than welcome. Everyone in my family is mad because I have to work and I usually do all the cooking and cleaning for the entire family at my house. There are about 13-15 people that show up. So this year they blame my weight lose for my lack of caring. It's not that I don't care it's I don't want the drama. My children are going to their god parents for Thanksgiving Day. Lee, My guess about the quiet board is that we are all getting very busy with our lives, and the weight loss is slow for most of us, so there really are few milestones to share. As well, we've mostly worked out the kinks in our eating/exercise regimes so aren't looking for much input there, either. As for thanksgiving, I didn't know until yesterday what we'd be doing. It looks like my husband and I are going hunting on Thursday and I think his sister is going to make a turkey. We'll eat together when we get home. (It is really nice of her to do that knowing we'll be gone most of the day). My stepson has to work on Thursday and Friday anyway, so we're going to have our family dinner on Sunday (which is also my son's birthday). Both boys have Sundays and Mondays off, so it works out best that way. On a very thankful note, my ADHD son didn't call for over 3 months and didn't tell me where he was or if he was even okay. I found him walking along the road I happened to be driving on (a road I seldom travel) and discovered he was okay and not living under a bridge. I was sooooo hoping I'd run into him before his birthday, so I am very grateful. I really wanted to have my family all together for the holidays, and couldn't be happier that it worked out. Linn
