Cranky pants feeling better.....

Hello everyone..... One of the new promises I have made for myself, I intend to try harder to keep. Haha.....knowing me, I even break promises to myself on a regular basis. So......I'm going to "redo" my profile (and try not to make it too negative about my physician's care....and take more responsibility for my own decisions.) I'm too old to point fingers anyway, someone just comes along and bends them back towards me.....ouch! But true! I have found some relief though, after a couple scopes (the first two were not cooperating with my anger), I did have a blockage.....and from one highly motivated complainer to those many lovely souls that took the time to send your emails.....your solicitations meant more than gold to me and the third ruckus with a doc did the trick. Now that I have had........DRUM ROLL PLEASE......(pssssst. don't tell anyone I have a Degree in Psychology....haha....because I do but seldom deserve it, I keep waiting for them to send someone to come and take it back).....Mrs. Katherine Give God the Glory has had (hey, Dame Toots.....count them!) five regular stools in five days. Can anyone say ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.....giggling like a child here. Who knew pain relief was more enjoyable than winning the lottery. Haven't done that yet, but I'm working on it. Hehe. By the way, I do have some new information on the Neuropathy problem that some WLS patients have to deal with and a new med now praised by the AMA. Email me at Mrshunnykosho at aol dot com if you are interested. New blood tests revealed something unseen and I am truthfully blessed by my creator. A wonderful woman wrote to me in my darkness and shared her problem about vitamin deficiency in B1. They didn't test for it....I am only 9 months out so no one thought it was necessary. It causes Berri Berri (sp?) and this dumb cluck has it. Hmmmmmm....causes these symptoms: Intolerable depression Noodle confusion up the kazoo Lifeless feeling of aliens running amock in your bodies Relentless tears causing my husband to run away screaming CONSTIPATION (who knew?) Muscle pain and constrictions compared to an elephant sitting on your legs and feet INCREASED NEUROPATHY that leaves you tied like an ugly sailor to the ship's anchor. And mostly.........just feeling like death is a welcome friend....how sad. So, boys and girls! If your PCP's or whomever tells you that you DO NOT NEED all the required Vitamin B's bloodworkup done before you are 1 year out......smack them from Katherine and send me their address. (I still got a good right hook, just point me in the right direction. I've never lowered myself to physical violence, so I want to make sure the first one is well deserved before they take me away in the paddy wagon.) Another pssst...if you want a family member socked, forget it....this lady is saving the first knuckle sandwich for a PHD. Hahaha....if I didn't like them so much, I wonder why I married one? (#2---switched to an Engineer this time and currently making #3 crazy). Anyway, so many thanks to so many wonderful people.....once again, you've saved my life. If anyone in your life asks you what love really is? Remind them....someone just has to care. PS for Dame T.----increased pain meds, laxitives, and general nerve deadening medications has left me more than a little silly. I like it. Don't stop what you do best.....you care and you help others to care, too. Love to all! Katherine

Hey Katherine! Glad to hear you are feeling better. I just saw your updated picture - girl you look great! I am sorry to say I have not been keeping up with the message board like I used to and am a bit behind the times. I do hope things go better for you now. Best wishes! Liz

Katherine - I'm so glad they found something and were able to get it worked out (pardon the pun)!!! My surgeon does B1 testing at every regular bloodwork check (3 weeks, 3 mos, 6 mos, annual thereafter). Good thing to know what the symptoms would be though. There are so many little things that can be just a little off yet have such an impact with this surgery that the more knowledge we can all share, such as you have, will help us all be more vigilant and hopefully stay as healthy as possible! Hugs - ...Nick

Glad you are feeling better! I worked for doctors for many years and i am glad you insisted on getting fully tested, most of our patients are glad when they find something (as long as its not bad) because then it shows they are not making their symptoms up! kelly

Not really good news, but such good news. I am so glad you were your own best advocate and even more glad they found a cause and treatment for your pain and depression. It's one thing to feel awful. It's something entirely different to know the reasons and move forward with treatment. I just wanted you to know how happy I am that you received some form of explanation for your symptoms and a treatment that is helping you. Here's to feeling better! Linn
