What's going on!!!
.K here's the thing. I had a goal to be at 173 by the 10th of this month, well it don't look like I'm going to make it. I was alright with only the loss of 3 pounds for the month, but the 3 pounds I did lose are back! Meaning no lost from 10/10 until now. I've been walking every other day since 10/10 just so I could lose 10 pounds for the month, that for some reason has back fired on me. I really want to reach my goal of 160 by my year anniversary. Im trying hard not to get discouraged, but it hard. I still have 3 months before 2/10/05, but what if I go another month without a lost? I'll take 183 over 291 any day, but I really want to be at 160. I am wearing sizes 12 and 14 misses, a big jump from 22W. Maybe I should just be glad that I'm there.... Will the weight loss start back???? HELP!!!
Any input please....

Im no expert by any means, but the only thing I can think of is that at this stage in our weight loss we have started to really build muscle, and with walking every other day you are certainly doing that! Muscle weighs in a lot heavier than fat. Are you taking your measurements? maybe you are getting smaller even tho the numbers are not showing what you are looking for.
I hope this helps you a little.

Hi Linda,
Congratulations on your 108 pound weight loss thus far. Why are we so hard on ourselves. You sound just like me - worried whether I'll meet my monthly goal! In fact this morning I realized the 11th is next Thursday and I wanted to be 139 (I'm 142 now).
Have you checked your loss with the Wt loss Planner (on the home page, left side). I have my graph taped on my calendar, and as long as I weigh close to what the graph has I'm satisfied (mostly) for the month. I checked yours and at 9 months you should weigh ~185. According to their figures you should get to your personal goal of 160 between March and April. At 183 you are right on track.
I really don't think losing 10 pounds a month is reasonable this far out. Please celebrate your victory at weight loss. What happens if we (you and I) don't get to goal in February, but March or April - will we turn into pumpkins??
Thanks for the post. Hope I helped some. It helped me to separate my feelings as well. Hey I wear 12 now also, never remember wearing that size. Isn't it great!!!

I am now 9 months out and weightloss have slowed so much for me. I have upped my protein and exercises as much as I can. I drink 80 to 100 ozs of fluids a day. I started taking a cortisone shot 6 months ago in my knee and arm due to my Rheumatoid arthritis flare ups and severe joint pain and swelling with fluid removed and I think that has something to do with it maybe. I have tried everything and I don't know what else to do. I have not gained any weight, but have not lost anything in 4 weeks. Inches have stopped also as I measure myself every other month. My clothes fit loser, but were never tight to begin with. I wear an 18 regular jean and 18/20 tops. They fit lose. The jeans fit god in the waist due to my jelly belly hanging. I take a fluid pill and will lose about 4 lbs when I do. I do this every other week, but it is just fluid though from the RA flare ups and swelling in my joints. I am at my wits end on how to jump start this weight loss again. I did lose weight better if I did nothing at all. No exercise or hardly drinking, but knew that this was not good. If anyone has any ideas besides what I have been doing please let me know. So Linda I know what you are going through.

I don't have any advice for you either because I've stayed the same weight the past 6 weeks myself. All I can say to do is keep on doing what you've always done and it will happen. As long as calories in is less than calories out, you'll continue to lose eventually. I also agree with Mary that sometimes the body just needs a break.
After my race (10K Oct 2) I had gall bladder surgery and haven't been able to run as much since then. Took 2 weeks off, but the belly button incision still hurts sometimes. I don't think I've run more than 3 times a week the past 3 weeks. I know this is part of the reason I haven't lost anything this month, but oh well, things happen that we can't always have control over. I try really hard not to beat myself up.
My surgeon has already told me that if I don't lose another pound, he considers me a success. That helps take some of the pressure off as well. Try to be happy with your progress and patient with the time frame. Our bodies rarely do what our minds want them to.
