Well it's been a bit of a mess with the flu shortage lately. Has anyone been able to get thiers yet? Someone said that having Gastric Bypass makes it medical need. I'm not convinced that is true. I hope everyone stays healthy and safe this upcoming season. Keep hygene at a high with hand washing and vitamans. By the way does anyone know if you nedd to cary somthing saying about the surgery? Or a medical braclet? Not sure if it's necessary though. Take Care Everyone & HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!! Beware of the upcoming sugar treats!! Jill

i would have gotten one, but with the shortage there isnt any available right now. My dr's office only has the kind for babies to 3 yrs. My girls (5&7) cant even get one right now. Rachel 270/161

Jill, Last year my surgeon said NO to the flu shot before surgery. He felt it made me at greater risk for problems after surgery (during hospital stay and recovery) because of more negative bacteria being in my body. This year, we got our shots the first day they were available at the local Wahlgreens. So forunate (both of us are considered high risk) as they next day they stopped doing them. I have a medical alert bracelet because of drug allergies. I made sure they added in my surgery information to the information they keep on line about me in case of emergency. I think it is a good idea especially since we are not to take aspirin, advil etc. so my record with Medic Alert states no anti-inflammatory drugs. Mary
