Almost 8 months out poll....
hey Julie,,,i am here!!!
i have not been able to get on the feb. board since they changed it!!! i had just about given up but decided to try one more time this morning.
Hope everyone is doing well! I hit 8 months on 10/23 and i am down to 174. My high weight was 301, 281 the day of surgery for a total loss of 127 pounds. i have gone from a 3X to a 12. I have noticed the weight loss has really slowed down so i am working on toning with weights now as well as the cardio. I have also noticed that I am hungry again after months of having no appetite and actually having a doctor tell me to start eating more!!! NEVER THOUGHT THAT WOULD HAPPEN. I suspect my increased calories has slowed the weight loss down but i was having some urinary problems that they feel is related to my keytones and lack of carbs in my diet. feeling much better now.
so catch me up on everything i have missed the last several weeks! Kelly
Hey.....So nice to see you back
Congratulations on your awesome weight loss! You've done so well. Amazing isn't it? You need to get us a new picture, I KNOW you don't look the same anymore. Are you at goal now?
Sorry to hear you had some urinary problems. I just had all new blood work done and this week I'm having a dexa scan, mamogram, etc. so basically they're checking me over head to foot. I'm kind of anxious to see what they find. I feel great. FINALLY got my hair back and burned the hair piece. I hope never to go through anything like that ever again.
I'm wearing mostly 10's now; some 8's in jackets; some 12's in slacks and skirts. I don't really care; it' just so much fun going shopping now that I've got to learn to stop buying new clothes. I'm also experiencing some hunger again and I'm trying to learn to keep it under control by feeding it properly and not waiting until I'm starving because then I'm less likely to make the right choice.
Met anyone spectactular yet?
(((hugs)))

Hi Renee! I weighed 292 at surgery...weigh 211 now...would I do it again? I'd do it once a year if that is what it took. My quality of life is so much better! I have been a slow loser compared to you all but 81 pounds is nothing to sneeze at either. I haven't really set a goal but I would be happy to get to 160 I guess. I was in a size 26 when this began and I am in a regular 16/18 now and feel great. I don't know why you are not glad you did this but I hope things improve for you!

Hey Renee,
I started at 241 and am now 160 (still a little bloated from gall bladder surgery 2 days ago).
I've been trying to lose weight to be able to do some of the things I've wanted to do for years, but it never happened, nothing worked. I'm very grateful to have been given this opportunity. I'm very near a 'normal' weight, and am also very physically active. I've already done a 10K and am looking forward to training for a triathlon next year.
I would do it again, even with the few complications I've had.

Hello Renee,
I started at 340 pounds I now weigh 201. Yes,I would do this again.I am one of the luckier ones I suppose I haven't had many problems. My only complaint is the hair loss.I have loss a great deal of it but it was my own fault for not keeping up with my protien.MY hair is now coming back in and I am very happy about that.I have lil baby hairs everywhere. I have dumped but that is rare now. Somedays I can eat anything ,then other days I can't. I feel terrific compared to what I felt before. My energy is up. When I get to goal and can have plastic surgery then I will be completely happy. Congrads on your weight loss.
Take Care Trisha
I would do it again with out thinking! I've had my rough times, but the good times out weigh them by far. I was on over 200 units of insulin plus oral meds for diabetes, high blood pressure meds and anti depresents, I am now on NOTHING! I started at 420, as of yesterday I am 259, that is a total of 161 pounds gone for good for me, something 20 years of dieting I've never even come close to doing. I have a ways to go to my goal of 180, but I actually have a hope of getting within 20 lbs or so of it now I feel, if not to it.

Hello Renee Let's see . . . current weight 160lbs . . . weight before surgery (including the 10 I lost during my week long fast) was 270. 110 lbs loss is awesome I think . . . granted I have about another 20 to go & at this point I'm doubting ever getting there. The only complications that I've experienced other then the day to day food ones was a stricture. I had that fixed last friday & so far so good. The majority of the time I would have to say that I would do it again . . . but in all honesty, I have my moments where I ask myself "what in the hell have I done"
Anyways - everyone has done so great! I'm so proud of everyone . . . I haven't been able to get on the computer much lately since I've gone back to school . . . but man the changes are just unbelievable!!!!
Congrats to everyone!! Big Hugs ~Amanda -110
