How close are you to your goal?
According to the chart I printed out from here, my ideal weight is 134. My personal goal is to make it to 130, but that may change when I get to 140. We'll see. I was thinking that I could be there by my 1-yr anniversary.
I started out at 231 on surgery day (241 pre-op doc visit)
Today's weight: 152
Pounds to go: 22
However, there are other goals that are more important to me now.
Saturday I'm running in a 10K. The goal for that race is to run the whole way - no walking. I'm very nervous about this.
Next summer I want to do a triathlon which means I need to learn to swim better. This winter the goal is to concentrate on swimming while keeping up with the running.
I now have fitness goals rather than weight goals. At this point I think if I keep up with fitness, the weight will even itself out where I need to be.

I am truly impressed with everyone's weight loss!
I think we all have quite a bit to be proud of.
I started at 374 lbs..
I am now at 227 lbs.. a loss of 147 lbs!
So far I have lost 2/3 of my excess weight.
I have 78 more pounds to loose, but I am going to get there!
I am shooting for the high end of what the height/weight chart says I should weigh (150 lbs). At this point, I just can't wait to break that 200 pound weight. Boy will there be some dancing that day!
Best,
Amy Thomas

IMO - I am already at goal. I never really had a goal weight to begin with. I wanted to be under 200 lbs and be healthy and active. I put on paper that I wanted to get to 170 lbs but being at 185 now and seeing my body where it's at today, I think I am at goal now. I just need to get the excess skin chopped off and I will be a TOTALLY happy camper.
I've lost 88 pounds since surgery and I have 37 more pounds to lose to reach my goal. I'm going to see my surgeon on Monday. (I'm late with my 6 month check up.) I'm going to ask her opinion. She never set a goal for me and I'd like to know what she thinks would be reasonable. I have been shooting for a BMI in the "normal" range and a loss of 37 more pounds would put me there.
