Thought I would put a new spin on the question of "how much have we lost" and ask How much have we gained? I have gained new self respect. I have gained freedom of movement. I have gained a healthier lifestyle. I have regained my good health. How about you???? Mary

Good thinking, Mary. I'll play... I've gained better posture. I've gained a renewed love life with my husband I've gained a better sense of motherhood...and how my actions impact my beautiful daughter. I've gained a CLOSET that is nearly empty, but who the He** cares? Denise

OK Mary, this really is kind of a tough one for me since I didn't have a lot of issues before surgery. I like (mostly) what I see in the mirror (with clothes on) even though I don't really believe it yet. Had hubby take pictures this weekend and couldn't believe what I saw. I like being able to physically do WAY more than I could before with about the same amount of pain. I will never be pain-free, but it is better. This is a big one since I'm hoping to run a 10K in a few weeks. What I have to say means a little more at work. I'm viewed as more competent (even though I was just as competent before). Linn
