How much have we gained (and I don't mean weight)?

I have gained a new respect for myself.
I have gained the confidence to want to go to school and change careers.
I have gained the freedom to eat out in public without feeling embarrassed.
I have gained the freedom to dance again without feeling stupid.
and i have gained the choice to wear high heels and short skirts!
(now if i just had the money!LOL)

OK Mary, this really is kind of a tough one for me since I didn't have a lot of issues before surgery.
I like (mostly) what I see in the mirror (with clothes on) even though I don't really believe it yet. Had hubby take pictures this weekend and couldn't believe what I saw.
I like being able to physically do WAY more than I could before with about the same amount of pain. I will never be pain-free, but it is better. This is a big one since I'm hoping to run a 10K in a few weeks.
What I have to say means a little more at work. I'm viewed as more competent (even though I was just as competent before).

I have gained the ability to speed walk up cardiac hill on campus and NOT be out of breath!

I have gained the respect of myself and a lot of admiration from people who care for me!

I have gained an empty closet and learning about what sizes I actually wear now!
