Hi Lee, I'm with you. I am going to try after Christmas. I'm still on the pill and have my annual pap/pelvic exam in October. I'm going to ask my Doc's recommendation. The WLS surgeon advised me to wait 1 year...am I'm honoring most of that. I'm 35 and want to have another baby. I hope the two or three ladies who have posted here some time ago will let us know how they are doing. How long are you going to wait? Take Care, Denise

Hi! I had my surgery on February 16th, 2004, and I just found out that I am pregnant. Needless to say, I'm quite worried (and yes, it was a big accident), but I'm a bit excited at the same time. I just called and made an appointment with my surgeon, and the nurse told me that he will more than likely recommend an abortion, but that he will discuss all the risks, etc. with me. Over the past few days, I've seen and heard of many many women who got pregnant 3, 6, 8 months after surgery and things went fine for them. I'm hoping that will be the case for me, also. I don't think I could go through with an abortion. :/ My husband and I hadn't planned on having kids ever, but I guess that has changed. Julie

RUN FROM THAT SURGEONS OFFICE! They tell u to have an abortion is the most insane thing I have ever heard! I am 6 months post op and 4 months prego and doing wonderfully! The baby is fine theres absolutely no reason to abort this innocent child!

I am and always have been pro-choice, so I don't want to push my opinions on you. It's your choice, and yours alone. If the surgeon recommends an abortion, which seems a rather harsh decision, then I'd inquire as to why and what other options exist. If you do not wish to continue your pregnancy, that is your choice and options exist for you, abortion is an option in this country. Good luck. Denise (Hoping to get knocked up in 4 months)

Hi my name is Christina and my surgery was on February 4,2004. I am pregnant due on April 16,2005. My Surgen was very supportive and said that we would get thru this together. I was told to wait 18 month until I got pregnant, however surprises happen!!! I am having to go thru a few extra test and I am extremely tired. Other than that everything is ok so far! I am still losing weight even though I am trying to consume more calories every day- more protein!!! Any how if I could offer advise I would say wait....this whole think (the weight loss) is emotional enough without adding the stress and guilt of getting pregnant...not to mention the hormons!!! February 2005 is not that far away get pregnant then. I will try to remember to post a few messages as time goes by.
