HUGE SETBACK!!!!!!!!!
Dan is back in the hospital! Yesterday he went for his follow-up 5 days after his release from the hospital. His doc took one look at him and right away (which I noticed too) knew he had jaundice. Yellowed skin and eyes. So she ran a battery of tests and had them check them STAT. We don't know if the meds he is on affecteds the results but they came back positive for lyme disease, mono, anemia, and hepititis A. He's one problem, hepatitis A comes from food and effects the liver. He is becoming jaundice because there is something backing up the liver or gallbladder. The babeseosis can do damage to the organs. We don't know how far the damage is or exactly what is causing the damage.
His red blood count is low. A normal count, according to the doc is around 12-13. Dan's is 7. So as I type this, he is being taken to have yet another CT scan to make sure there is no internal bleeding and then they are going to give him blood transfusions.
It just keeps getting worse. I am too beat to type everything. I cried in the docs office when she said he could die from this. I cried in the hospital. I can't take much more of this. Why are we being tested so harshly? We are good people. Good values, good morals, honest, sincere, trustworthy. Why is God doing this to us?
PLEASE AGAIN, PRAY FOR DAN. HE IS A WONDERFUL HUMAN BEING. I WILL TAKE ALL PRAYERS NO MATTER WHAT RELIGION. GOOD THOUGHTS IF YOU DON'T BELIEVE IN A GOD. I DON'T CARE. JUST BUNDLE UP YOUR THOUGHTS, PRAYERS, SPELLS, WHATEVER YOU HAVE AND SEND IT TO HIM.

I've printed this and posted it by my desk; I'll pray every time I see it all day. I don't know why bad things happen to good people, but I know that God is faithful. I hope here is someone who can care for you as much as you are caring for Dan.

Oh Joanne, I am so sorry for these trying times. Babeseosis, lyme disease, anemia, mono, hepatitis A. Dan must be soo weak being hit so hard by so many tough problems. Joanne, remember God doesn't give us more than we can handle. Your faith can get you through these tough times. Dan seems to be a wonderful man. Your strength will bolster him. His immune system will rally.

Hi Sweetie. I appreciate that offer so much. He is at South County Hospital. He doesn't like Kent.
There is no need to come to the hospital though. It is a sweet thing to offer and I will never forget you for that. That is how you know your true friends. But right now, the time I spend with him is so priceless. I just can't leave his side for a moment. The only time I walk away is to use the bathroom, and get him things he needs, like ice water.
Know what? I think wls people are the nicest people in the world.

I just got online and saw your two posts about Dan. Glad to hear with your most recent post that he is doing better. My husband is a cancer survivor as is my niece. Cancer can be beaten in many cases, especially if discovered early.
You and Dan are a great support team for each other. Lots of hugs, love, and caring is sooooo important for recovery. Just keep reinforcing your love with each other and the fact that you will both be OK.
Absolutely will keep you both in my thoughts and prayers.
