Ok, so I have a bottle of calcium citrate with vitamin D and Mag. Nice little bottle of huge horse pills...LOL Anyway, the pills are 250mg each...so I have been taking 8, yes 8 a day to make my 2000mg per day that is recommended. I was just wondering, has anyone found a higher mg pill? I have been taking them 2 at a time every hour or so in the evening. I end up taking vitamins 6 times a day. Take my multi, my iron, and my Vit C in the morn and then another dose of the 3 (multi, my iron, and my Vit C) after lunch, then starting around 5-6 pm, I start taking my calcium 2 at a time...I feel like taking vits is over running my life! LOL Don't worry, I am faithfully taking them, but what a pain! I just want to gulp them all the calcium at the same time. But I don't cause #1 I want the most absorption so I break it up, and #2 they are the size of my foot! heheheh LOL...any suggestions?? Thanks!

Citracal + D has one that is 630 mgs for 2 tablets we were told to only take 1200 by our surgeon and my calcium levels were perfect on my blood work and I also get extra in the foods I eat milk, cheese yogurt. Also check at your health food store to see if they have a calcium citrate in higher mgs. I have crushed mine in the beginning and mixed with a spoonful of yogurt to take if you have problems getting them down mine don't have any taste the yogurt just helps them slide down easier. Nancy

I just bought some that I purchased at Walmart that have 315mg of Calcium and 200 I.U. of Vitamin D per pill. They are pretty big but I could not find any that were smaller. I did not try the nutrition store - everything just costs so much more there and I figured if I could handle these then why switch. Hope this helps - by the way, my doc told me to take 1200 mg Calcium per day so maybe you could cut back a little. How much iron are you taking - I am not taking any extra iron and I wondered if I should. I take a multi with extra iron in it. Liz

Had my gastric bypass surgery (RNY) on 2/27/04. Go to this website and look under "Health and Nutrition" this stuff is great. www.raallred.unfranchise.com It's not a pill. It's a powder that you mix with water. I mix it all together and drink it once a day. I feel great on it. Tastes pretty good too. I take the following items: Calcium Plus Formula MultiTech Formula Vitamin C Formula OPC-3 B-12 Special Formula Mineral Blast If you have any questions, you can contact me at [email protected] Lorree www.raallred.unfranchise.com
