Today is 6 months. I feel better, look a bit pale, but really am happy with the results. I am down 80 pounds from surgery date of 267. 262 by Dr. office but my scales had me at 267 a month after my last weigh in at Dr.'s before surgery. I am not worried about how fast I lose. I am worried about nutrition. My hair is falling out. Good thing I have a huge abundance of hair and it should stop before baldness takes over. LOL. I would do it again even though I had a rough start with a DVT and the flu etc. Lots of vomiting-I felt like my esophagus had snags on it to catch on food. Lots of constipation but rolled oats with apricots fixed that. Now that fruit is on the menu there is no problem. Remembering water and lots of it is paramount to feeling well. I drink a quart of skim milk a day and thet helps with energy also. All in all I am thrilled and soooooooo happy to not have to deal with morbid obesity forever . Sandy

Congratulations to you Sandy! I enjoy hearing how people's lives have improved through surgery because I have folks here that I can share with who are going through the same things. My surgeon even said to me at my check-up that I don't look like I've EVER had a weight problem. It was sooo nice to hear that from him, even though I think I need to lose at least 20 more pounds. I'm glad you are feeling well, and wish you all the best as you continue on your journey. Linn

Thank You Linn, And so glad to hear you are doing well also. I have about 40 lbs to go. But I know they will come off if I am vigilant about what goes in my mouth. Your before and after are wonderful. thanks for sharing. Sandy

Sandy, Congratulations, you are doing great. I'm losing hair too but my hair is very thin to begin with. Hope it stops soon. I agree, fruit and veggies have been great to have added in and for me, no constipations except maybe twice over the 6 months. Water helps too. Mary

Sandy, Happy anniversary! We share the same surgery date. I had my 6 month check up this week and I started at 308 and now am at 220 for a total of 88 pounds gone! I am right with you with the hair loss - I do think it is slowing down some now but I do hope it quits soon. I still have problems getting my protein in every day but it is much better than it was and I can eat a larger variety of foods now. I am going to the gym 3 times a week and while my weight is not where I really would like it to be, I feel so much better and stronger that I try not to look at the numbers so much. My only regret is that I did not have this surgery sooner! Hope you are having a great day! Liz
