What did you do for exercise today? The packers were at our yesterday and the movers today. So I did a lot of bending over and picking up things around the house (little pieces of tape, cardboard etc on the floor). I know they would of picked it up, but it gave me something to do. I really cleaned house when it was all done too. That was quite a workout. Strange to have sold our home and see it empty. It even echoed. Definitely looking forward to starting fresh in AZ. When we get to our rental in AZ, I will have a pool in our community just a block from us. Also lots of flat area to walk the dog too. So lots of exercise will be increased for me. How about the rest of you? How are you doing with exercise? Mary

Mary, I lived in the same town in Washington state for 34 years. Then I met Hal on a cruise and he lived in CA. Since he had the better paying job and owned a home, I made the move to CA 18 years ago. It was funny as both my brother and sister had big plans to move away and it turns out that I am the only one who left the state. Up until May 04 I had never thought of moving to AZ, but we decided to visit and fell in love with the area. Cost of living is so much lower than here and the area is beautiful. Altho hot, it is not humid like here so heat wasn't a problem. We are so excited about the move. It is definitely a good move for us. Our home here sold quickly (in 3 days) and we got our asking price. So that made the decision even easier. You are doing great with the treadmill. Congratulations on your success. Just a reminder to wear really good/substantial shoes when you use it. I wore "walking" shoes on mine years ago and developed plantar faccitis (spelled wrong) in both fee then was forced to wear othrodics for years in my shoes. Foot doctor said it could of all been prevented IF I had worn the proper shoes .... he said jogging/running shoes are the best for walking as they have just the right angle for heel height and have extra support that walking shoes don't have. Hey Mary, glad to see you back on the board. I finally, for the first time, dragged my butt out of bed on a Saturday and made it to an aerobics class at the gym. It just was too early to get up before, but I made a plan with a co-worker to meet up there and do the class. I couldn't let her down so I finally made it. I am using this buddy program to full benefit. Where in Arizona are you moving to? My husband's uncle lives somewhere in Pheonix and my Father-in-law lives in Chino Valley. We usually make it Arizona every other year. Continued good luck blessings to complete this move, Dorothy

Dorothy, I was just lucky that the interenet connection here at the hotel is free and seems pretty stable. So I just might be able to get on-line more than I thought. Will be in hotels until 9/1 which is when we move into our rental. We will be about 20 minutes outside of Phoenix. A buddy system is a great idea. Good for you. I'm proud of you that you went to the class and had a plan to encourage not to back out. Thank you for the good wishes. Mary

Hi Mary, Sounds like the move is a good one for you, but they are sure stressful, aren't they? 8 years ago I moved from Illinois to Florida and it was hard, but I just love it here! Best of luck in your move and hope you will be in your own home soon. Saturday I began my aqua areobics exercize in the pool, but got reined out. I finished it inside with a Richard Simmons Workout, but bruised my ankle in the process. Not as coordinated as I used to be! I feel safer in the water! Today, I did my 1 1/2 hour workout in the pool. Went earlier than yesterday and glad I did, as it rained again! Catch you later!

Hi Mary, Thanks for the reply. I did some house cleaning a couple times this week. Today was the most and my body is yelling at me. It's ok though just put on some muscle rub and watch the olympics. Good luck on your move here to Az. I too live outside of Phoenix. In scotts. It's been warm her but not as hot as usual. Have a good move, Jill

Goodmorning Mary, I am a bit late at answering this, but I walked my six miles (down to the lake and back--nonstop) and did an hour of water aerobics. I figure I walk over 150 miles a month. The scales don't show it, but I sure feel better than I did a year ago at this time. I hope your moving transition goes well, dear. Almost six months on the 25th, down 59 lbs. Love, Katherine

My exercise varies daily. But I make a point of doing something almost every day. I had started out walking and really love it, but have found I have some dvd's that give me a much better work out and I don't have to worry about the weather! So I do either my advanced Tae Bo, Lesley Sansone 3 mile work out, or my Denise Austin dvd's or some variation of the 3. I also make sure to do upper and lower ab work at least 4 nights a week. The nights I mow the grass, I don't do any of them, except the ab work. I have noticed that I'm dropping clothes sizes pretty quickly now, so I know the exercise is having an impact, even if the scale doesn't show it as quickly. keep up the good work!
