2 good things in 2 days!
So, I work at a college, specifically in student housing and as a result I come into contact with tons of students. It's a blast and something that I truly love, although August is the month from hell!
Anyhow, yesterday I was in the dining hall with some of my staff at lunch time, and I saw a student walking towards me who I haven't seen in since last summer. He was looking right through me, until I called his name. Then he just stood there and looked at me with this confused look on his face until all of a sudden he realized who I was. He just kept going on and on about how 'gorgeous' I look and how he didn't recognize me, etc. I know my face was burning up, here's this 23 year old guy just gushing about how good I look in front of EVERYONE at the dining hall. I was so pleased, it was so nice to hear.
Then this morning, I was sorting through the t-shirts that I ordered for my staff, trying to figure out what size I should take. Mind you last year, I needed a 3 XL and it was still kind of snug at times. (They are my night-shirts now with tons of room!). Well I tried on the XXL, and it was big, but not overly so. So for fun, I tried on the XL and OMG it fit with room to spare! I couldn't believe it. I couldn't tell you the last time an XL shirt fit, let alone was loose! My secretary told me I should probably try on a large, but I didn't. I'll probably take one home to give it a try.
And to top it off, I've got a date for this weekend!
I just thought I'd share with others who I know can relate!
Hi Michelle!!
YEAH FOR YOU!!
I know that we are all our own worse critics, and it is SO nice to have people notice and go on about it! Espically if they are 1. male and 2 young!!
Congrats to you!! I used to wear a 6x-5x and I am in a 2x now. Moving down too!! (133 down)
It is still nice to be able to pick up something and think NO WAY and have it fit!!!!!
Keep up the great work!!

OK...so I tried on the Large shirt yesterday....I just couldn't resist and it FIT!!! One of my student workers commented that it fit like a 'fitted tee', which was very cool! Granted it was tighter than I'd be comfortable wearing it right now, although the tight fitted tees are certainly in fashion right now. I was SHOCKED that it fit at all, shouldn't be much longer until I am able to wear it!!
I never would have guessed back in February that I would have these many changes in size this quickly. I'm just now waiting for my head to catch up with the rest of me!!!
Thanks for sharing your success stories and WLS moments with us. It helps keep me inspired to continue on with the exercising and healthy food choices. I am so happy to hear about the great changes that we are all going through!! I am so much happier since I have had the surgery and it sounds like you are too...keep up the great work!!!
