Im Pregnant

My surgery was on February 4,2004. Everything is going great so far I am down 68 pounds ( not as much lost as most of you- but I'm happy). Anyhow I found out last week that Im pregnant - any advice? good, bad or otherwise?-thanks

No advice here, but I'd just like to say congratulations to you! All I can say is make sure you follow the advice of your docs, and take care of the two of you! Linn

Please keep us updated. I'm hoping to get pregnant around my 1 year anniversary, which will be 2/16/05. I was told to wait one year. Good luck and congratulations.

I want to get pregnant too, I was told to wait 18 months... but Im thinking I will be lucky to hold out for our one year anniv. 2/17/05 I am very jelous and totally excited for you. Keep us up to date on whats happening, and take care of yourself. Lee

Christina, Best wishes and congratulations. How exciting for you. From everything I have read, it is best to get into a OB doctor as soon as possible. Because of the mal-absorption issues you are a higher risk pregnancy and should be more closely monitored. Maybe ask your surgeon if he can recommend an OB that has had other WLS patients. Mary

I am prego too! I am also 6 months out. So we are in the same boat. You do need to see your OB and your surgeon to make sure that they work close together to make sure that they can closely monitor you. Good luck! So when are you due?

I am 6 months out as of feb 24th and my due date is 2/24/05 and i am 13 weeks preggers! no need to see a high risk doctor, everything is gonna be fine w/ baby! So far my baby is growing well!
