Summertime

I used to (before the surgery of course) HATE, I mean HATE summer. I hated it because it meant HEAT AND HUMIDITY, bathing suits, shorts, tank tops, etc. I live and work in central air, thank God. This summer I am wearing my bathing suit from B.S. (before surgery). It looks like hell. I would never wear a tank top or sleeveless top due to my linebacker arms. This summer things are different...it's hot, but it doesn't seem to make me as crabby. I know I look bad in my bathing suit, because it's too big and my skin is saggy. I've started to try some sleeveless shirts, only at home. What have your summer experiences been? Denise closing in on 100 LOST.

I was SO afraid of sleeveless tops...but then one day, I decided: "you know what? I DON"T CARE" I know that I look a thousand times better than I did before, and there are SO many people out there wearing sleeveless tops who look alot worse than I do. Looking at the picture of your face, you look TINY...so I wouldn't let it bother me too much. I'm sure that YOU think you look worse than you actually do. I have discovered that through my own experiences. I still see myself as an 18/20, and everyone else sees me as what I actually am now....10/12. Embrace your new outlook, and your new body....you have done the work, and you deserve to wear whatever you want!! 100 lbs....AWESOME!! Sherri C 242/170/140 -72 RNY 2/16/04

HI Denise, I used to hate the hot summer months too but this year I feel so much better.I wear some sleeveless tops and feel ok in them. My nephew called the skin hanging my arms, Bang..What he means I don't have a clue but we all got a kick out of it,now everyone showes him their bang..LOL I find myself wearing more capri's than shorts mainly because of the double knee replacements I had last year. But all in all I feel much better about my self. I don't think people are looking at my weight any more they are looking at my face and see the glow I am showing from JOY!!! Wishing you all the best......Marion

Hey Denise, I was always a shorts wearer no matter what my weight was and for as long in the year as it was feasible. However, I LOVE SUMMER, always have and never let what I looked like determine what I wore. I look tons better now than I did, but my basic summer wardrobe has always been shorts and tanks. Now I'll even wear a camisole sometimes. I'm glad your summer is better this year, Linn -78#

Joanne, LOVe the wings comment, that is going to be my new mantra!! I have found i am wearing sleeveless tight shirts, the short skorts, and buying really cheap bathing suits from kmart about 10 dollars. baggy skinned be d@m#ed! i waited alot of years to wear stuff like this. I am still suffering from the cold which i never did before, I used to sweat alot, eeww now the only sweating is do is hot flashes. but now i cant even go swimming i get too cold to easily. I do miss swimming and when i am in the pool the coolest thing is my stomach is really flat! LOL kelly 283/176/160
