6 Month check up, results not so good.....
I had my 6 month check up and my calcium was low, my iron was really low, and my b12 was low. I have been very forgetful lately about taking all my pills. I miss a day or two every week on my calcium, and the same with the b12. I need a better routine. Now I have to add in my iron during the day. UGH!
I take a synthroid pill first thing in the morning and wait an hour to eat anything. Then my daycare children start coming in and I don't ever get around to eating or taking my pills. I leave my pill holder on the counter, but still forget to take them. I guess I need to leave sticky notes around for myslef. I stick to a schedule with the children, but can't seem to stick to one with my pills. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
I also told him a fib about my exercise. I told him that I was walking on the treadmill at least twice a week for 30 -40 minutes. Well, LOL he wants me to up it to an hour. I about fell off the table. I suppose I will see the scales move if I just do the 30 - 40 minutes I lied about. Sigh....
I have not bee a good patient. I'm going to do better. More protien, and exercise and try to take all my pills. Wish me luck!

D.K you crack me up! You always make me smile mostly because you always write what I am thinking myself....Please don't ever think you are alone in your misbehavior! I have my 6 month checkup on Friday and now I am seriously thinking about OD'ing on Calcium!!! (only kidding!). I am right along with you about forgetting to take my vitamins and calcium but I figure I wasn't a very disciplined person to begin with and that is why I got myself into this condition in the first place.... It is still a learning process and I guess I'm a SLOW learner.....You are looking wonderful by the way
I'm so glad you posted about this. I've been delinquent in taking my supplements. I was doing an a-ok job with protein supplements, mostly bars. Not any longer. I want to Yak at the thought of another chocolate wanna be covered cardboard and styrofoam log thing. I'm also not doing any regular, structured exercise other than chasing after my toddler. My 6 month is in a few days and I'm even blowing off my labwor****il later in the month. ho hum.
Thanks for being honest...i'm working on it.

Well, I hope it will be a wake up call for all of us. I'm real dilligent about brushing and flossing my teeth, because I don't want them to fall out, but I guess I haven't taken my internal health as seriously. I've been good today, and taken most of my meds. I do need to pop the b-12 under my tongue. Sigh......

Hi Debbie,
I am SO in the same boat as you!!
Is it possible to have a b-12 shot once a month? I know the program that I went through requires it. My PCP writes the precsitpion once a year ( or so I am told) and that is that. I go in on the first and have it done!!
Good luck to you!

Hello Debbi,
Here's a hug. I know when I go in for my 6 month check up it's not gonna be great. I haven't lost any weight in a month.Although I do know I have done pretty good so far, I am disappointed with my scale.Your not alone, I to forget to take my pills and my protien seems to have become a real chore. Exercise is not in my volcabularly or daily routine. I know I am failing myself by not taking full advantage of this time to lose. It's just our everyday lives seem to take over and we don't put our needs first anymore like when first were post op. It's why I spent a day in the ER. So take a deep breath and try to put yourself first.
Take Care , Trisha
Thank you Debbi. I am not alone. Since my surgeon is 6 hours away I have to go to my Primary for my labs and still have yet to make an appointment. I do not want to face the music. I haven't been good at vitamins, I am thinking about asking them to put me on prenatal ones for the extra iron and folic acid. I am tired of the centrum chewables. Exercise is so hard to get around to. Well today I am going to start walking at break. IT TOOK me long enough to get some in. Let's try to begin TODAY to get back on the band wagon. I love all my weight loss sisters.
