Anyone else having trouble sleeping?

We were on vacation most of last week, and I didn't sleep well. I never sleep well away from home. Anyway, I'm getting real anxious about falling asleep. I'm having the same type of feelings I had last summer. I was put on wellbutrin for anxiety(grieving my mother's death and pms). I have slept so good, since surgery until now. I'm starting a terrible cycle again. I can't get to sleep until midnight and then I'm up at 6:00. I'm so tired during the day that I take a power nap, and I'm supposing that is contributing to my not being able to fall asleep. My mind just races and my legs are getting restless. I have not been using my cpap since about 2 weeks post op. The pressure is too strong. My husband says I do not snore and I don't quit breathing like I did pre op. So..... I'm asking here if any of my friends here are dealing with the same thing? Thanks, Debbie -60 side note... I almost freaked when I looked at how little I lost this month. I thought I had lost 4 lbs, but only have lost 2 lbs so far. I do have until the 5th, but don't see any big loss in the future. I guess the honeymoon is over.

All I can say is I am going through the same exact thing. But to add on to mine, my depression is back full time. I went to the docs today and she is switching me from prozac which I have been on for years and years to wellbutrin and effexor. I hope it helps cause I either don't sleep well or I sleep too much but restless sleep. I don't want to go to school or do anything. All I want is good sound sleep!!!!!!!!! Joanne

Debbie, I'm sorry you are having trouble. I have had major depression and anxiety for years. It ruined my sleep too. I was taking wellbutrin and xanax before surgery. I quit taking the Wellbutrin after surgery since I was in the hospital for a week and wasn't given anything. I didn't start taking it when I got home since it was time released and was a fairly large pill. I really worried about every medication I took. I continued taking the xanax since I had a lot of anxiety and the pill was chewable (Yuck). I still haven't gone back to the wellbutrin. I'm not as depressed since the surgery but I'm still fighting it. I take a 1/2 mg of xanax at bedtime and that helps me to sleep. If I need to I take 1 mg. Before surgery I was taking 2mg at bedtime. Have you talked to your doctor? Are you still taking the wellbutrin? Maybe a small amount of xanax or trazadone would help with the anxiety and make it easier to fall asleep. I hope you feel better. Both my wife, who had the surgery last August, and I have had sleeping issues, to the point where we brought it up to our surgeon at appts; he helped out with some Ambien, but my ins plan limits you to 14 pills PER 3 months. So we use them sparingly. I'm due to be re-titrated for my BIPAP as well sometime soon; I haven't dared not use it because I was pretty hi pressure (20/16).. there's one woman in our group who is on a very low pressure (5) weighing 125, but she still does have apnea, so you may want to have another (un)sleep study done to see if you need a lower pressure. I know... I don't sleep much either during them, but it may be worth it. Good luck. ...Nick 347/267/165-180 (with luck)

Check with your doctor. Restless legs I thought were a sign of a vitamin deficiency (I could be wrong). Have you had blood work run recently? The honeymoon is not over ... don't give up, you just hit a "resting" point for your body. Keep following the rules you will be fine. Mary
