Hi Everyone, I am just 5 months post op and noticing that my Tush is getting sore when I sit. Has anyone noticed that? I am down 125 pounds as of last Monday at my Surgeons office. I have really baggy clothes and I am getting flabby, yes I do work out and so some swiming. I still want to loose about 80 pounds or so. I still have my work cut out for me though, with my really bad knees from being a athlete. Thy are feeling better but even if I weighed 80 pounds I will still have knee pain Thanks for listening, Let me know if you are having that too!!! Thanks !

Hi, Jill. I feel your pain. I'm not quite 6 months out and my tush hurts when I sit, too. I'm down 80 pounds and want to lose about 60 more. We just got back from a 12 hour car trip yesterday, and all I wanted to do when we got home was stand up. I went for a walk and that helped. I fell and severely bruised my tailbone about 16 or 17 years ago, and I guess now that I've lost a lot of the fat padding back there, the pain I had for 5 or 6 months after that fall is back. Small price to pay though as most of my other aches and pains have gotten much better and I'm off of most meds that I was taking before surgery. Take care!

Jill, All of a sudden now I've got this pointy thing in each cheek that is defintely bothersome when I sit! Also, when I sleep on my side, my hip joint can be sore. How odd, do other skinny people go through this now? What a nice thing to feel these bones now....

I am finding that I have pain in my hips and neck many nights (during the night). I'm sure that I am sleeping differently now because of not using the CPAP any longer. Can't say my tush hurts (but I still have padding back there at the moment). Congratulations on your weight loss. That is fantastic!!! Mary

Hi I know exactly what you mean. I have lost all my insulation. Not only do I freeze to death all the time but everything aches more now. I am all bones in my shoulders and hips and my poor butt, I had to get a cushion for my already cushioned chair at work. My car seat is starting to bother me now I feel every rod that is in the thing and it's a new car. I thought there was something wrong with the seat but there isn't, it's me! I find that sitting in the tub causes some aches too, I have to shift a lot more often. Another funny thing is that I have had to switch bed pillows. The one I used before surgery, which I loved dearly by the way, is now too tall. My neck was at a very weird angle when I slept on it and caused neck pain. I have lost a lot of the fat that I used to have in my back area and shoulders, which is a good thing but man do I miss my pillow...haha! I have a question for you...do you bruise easier now than prior to surgery? I swear I bruise if you just look at any area long enough. Good luck to you! Tiff (Lap RNY 2/17/04; 245 lbs - 180lbs.)

I don't have the tushie soreness but my problem area are my knees when i sleep at night. the bone in my knee (didn't know i had one there hurts when i sleep on my side...so now i have to sleep with a pillow between my knees. Tiff, yes i do bruise much much easier....not bruises that hurt but i see them all over my arms and legs and wonder what the heck i bumped in to. i am 5 months this week and down between 90 and 94 pounds.....i have given up trying to have a definate number cause the scale keeps moving. hahahaa. I definately can relate. Lately I have been complaining about my tush being sore. No cushion back there I don't want to sit as much because of the pain. Also about the pillow being too tall I have that same issue. I also get cold and before I used to sweat all the time. Annette -88 lbs -tush -insulation

Hi Jill, I'm right there with you as well. This past weekend I was sitting on the front steps with my hubby enjoying the beautiful morning and drinking coffee and I had to keep adjusting to keep from hurting too much. I never had as much padding there as everywhere else, and now I don't have much at all. Things (muscles, loose skin?) also seem to move around when I'm sitting on something hard causing even more pain. It's still a small price to pay. Linn 241/167/130 -74

I am laughing so hard. I thought it was only me. Man the tush hurts. Have to sit on my little girls ring float to sit in the tub. Beebe 292/219/160
