Where are you with your weight loss
I had my surgery on 2/5/04 and have lost 59lbs. I probably have lost the slowest of this board, but I'm very happy with my loss. I still can't believe that I'm loosing inches and not lbs. I wore a nice denim capri set today, that didn't fit well about two weeks ago, and I haven't lost but 1 lb. I expect a drop this week, so I will cross over into the 60's in loss and 160's in weight. I will go from obese to overweight when I loose one ding dang pound.

Joan, if you are reading this, I'm slower than you.
I did weigh 245 by my surgeons scales Nov. 03 and now weigh 170, so I suppose I have lost 75lbs total, but I go by my weight on surgery day
229/170/140-130ish
I don't feel so alone now. I was looking at my chart today and in the last 4 months I have only lost 6 lbs!!!!!!! Inches are coming off slower too. I only lost a total of 8.25 inches in the last 2 months.
The more I think about it, the more pissed I get. At this point, I feel like I did all this for nothing. And to answer the question that most ask to people who feel like I do, YES, I could have lost this much without surgery. I couldn't have kept it off...but then again, I know if I let myself, I can put it back on now. Can't win!!

My surgery was on 2/18/04 and I have lost 103 total after 5 months. After 4 months I was down 97, which means that this past month I only lost 6 lbs. I think that the heavier you are, the quicker it comes off. That's what my surgeon told me. I started at 423 lbs - which is A LOT! I may be losing quicker right now then most people on this board, but I have a lot more weight to lose. You all will definitly reach your goal way before me. So maybe it's an even trade? Not sure. Try not to compare yourself. If you ever feel blue or think you are a slow loser, just be glad that you didn't start at 422 lbs LOL.
I had surgery 2/12/04 and I've lost 73 pounds and I'm okay with that. My kids have never seen me this thin and they've been very complimentary and frankly, if I stayed at this weight, I'd still feel like surgery was a success. I'm only 9 pounds over the average weight for a woman my age/height and to me...that's wonderful! I don't have any illusions about looking 15 again...not sure I'd want to.
I'd probably do better if I would exercise, but it's tough to make myself do it and I'm still struggling with good intentions vs. reality.

Hi Kim,
I had my surgery on 2/17/04. Since then I have lost 62lbs. I am happy with my loss but man do I wi**** were more. I am happy with the size I currently am (16) but would really like to lose about 40 more lbs. I would love to be a size 10. I have been losing a lot of hair lately but I had a lot of hair to begin with so you can't tell it. My hair dresser tells me that if I keep losing hair then in a few months I'll know what it is like to have a normal head of hair...haha! I have lost a total of 68 inches which is the real kicker. If I had to chose I would pick inches over lbs.
Good luck to you!

Hi Kim
I had my surgery on Feb, 16 and I was down 100 lbs on my 5 month out anniv. I lost 20 lbs before, so I have lost 120 total. I started out on the higher side of the scale, so my dr. said it would fly off me for a while. Plus, he also said age has something to do with it also (i am 23)
You are doing great. And if you ever get discouraged, go pick up 75 lbs of bird seed or top soil! I coulnt even pick up 1/2 of what I have lost at one time!!
Best of luck to you and all of us!
Sarah
I had my surgery on 02/23/04 and have lost a total of 88 lbs so far. I started out at 291 and now I am down to 203. But I think my weight loss has recently been due to loss of hair that was a few pounds. Well that is how it seems since I have lost soooooooooo much and it doesn't look like it is slowing down either.
