loss as of this week!
morning all. i haven't been on much lately. work work work!!
i got on the scale yesterday for my monday weigh in and the scale had done a big drop..YEHHHH. drum roll please.....pre surgery 301, day of surgery 281....todays weight 210...if my calculator is right that is a loss of 91 pounds! My size 18 jeans are getting a little big so Goodwill here I come again!!
I feel good and have upped my exercise since I discovered my parents paddleboat. they live on a lake and i have been taking it out several times a week and paddling all around the lake for about 45 minutes.
I have about 5 boxes of clothes sitting in my closet and keep telling myself I am going to take the to Goodwill or Salvation Army...but something stops me.....Does anyone else have trouble parting with their old clothes. I know how much money I invested in these clothes and getting rid of them is hard especially when those thoughts come in of "what if I gain the weight back and have to buy more clothes"????
I have new pictures and have sent them to be posted but received a message back saying they didn't get all my information. I was pretty sure I sent all they asked for and haven't had time to resend it but someday I will get it done. Hope everyone is doing great! Kelly
Kelly,
Congratulations .. that is great news.
Get rid of the clothes in the closet!!! You are not going to gain the weight back, you are not going to need them. Yes, they cost money but having them sit in your closet negatively affects your morale. They subconsciously tell your brain that you are going to fail. Kelly, you are not failing, you are succeeding.
Many people take their clothes to their local support group meeting. There is usually someone there who needs them desperately. So you would be helping someone else out by donating them.

Kelly,
That is great! You won't gain the weight back. You might have a few bounce back pounds but you will be closer to goal, and the clothes you are holding onto will never fit again.
I just gave two lawn and leaf bags full of nice clothes away. I have a friend who is in the midst of getting her paper work and dr.s visits. She will be able to wear my clothes for the next 6-8 months, and then pass them on. It really felt nice to be rid of them, even though there was over a thousand dollars of clothes in there. It will be nice to replace them when I'm finished loosing.

You know, I've gone ahead and replaced many of my clothes. I began my new job today and it's imperative that I have appropriate professional clothes. I've had alot of luck finding great suits, skirts, blouses, etc. at the local Salvation Army for a fraction of what they would cost new and they look terrific. I've bought quite a bit as I think I'll probably stay pretty close to this weight for some time and even if I continue to lose slowly, I shouldn't be dropping sizes as quickly as I was before. I've even bought a few things a size smaller (when I find really nice stuff) so that I've got clothes waiting for me.

Hope you are enjoying your new job. I think it is great that you have been able to find nice things out there. I think it is smart to buy a size smaller. I have done that with a few things, and Lo and Behold they finally fit, and are even getting too loose. (Gotta love that) My weight loss has gone from slow to really, slow but I'm still loosing inches. The pounds just want to hang on.

Wow! Kelly, that is soooo great! I've been on vacation in the back woods of Michigan for over a week and haven't been able to be online and that was great news to hear first day back!
I'm so glad you're ready to get rid of the clothes; I think that's a big mental hurdle for many of us, but it feels soooo good. I gave most of mine to a young mother of 7 who rarely gets to buy new clothes for herself and she was so grateful to get them that I didn't mind getting rid of them at all.
Can't wait to see the new pictures.
((hugs))
