I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem. Starting yesterday my stomach is really achey. I feel like I need to keep my muscles around my stomach tight so it won't hurt so much and it is very hard for me to relax those muscles without really concentrating on it. I started a new job on Wednesday where I did a lot of lifting for the first 2 days and on Friday a lot of sitting at a desk. I was wondering if it was just a change in what I am used to doing. I am having a lot of trouble drinking and eating though, it makes the ache worse. HELP! On the positive side I just hit the century mark!! It's unbelievable how it feels to be smaller. Everyone else is doing wonderfull too and I really appreciate all of the inspiration. You are all wonderful people!!!! Jacque

Jacque, Congratulations on hitting the century mark. That is fabulous. About 2 months ago, I did some lifting (not heavy things) and the next morning to the left of my belly button is hurt then as the morning progress it hurt even worse. Then it hurt there is I breathed, so I headed to my doctor's office immediately. She was concerned that I may have a hernia. Fortunately after a very thorough poking and prodding, she determined that I had just pulled a muscle. She highly recommended that I wear a surgical binder when lifting and also to wear it until the pain went away (or if it got worse to come back). Many companies supply back supports to wear when lifting ... very similar to surgical binder but black. Does your doctor have a number/triage that you can call and asked for advice? Do you have an urgent care facility you could go to since it is the weekend? If it hurts to eat or drink and you aren't drinking enough you risk the possibility of dehydration. Hope you feel better soon. Mary

Thanks Mary!! The pain has gotten better as the days have gone by but I will call my doctor on Monday. I think I will try to get something for support when I lift. This was the first time I lifted anything with weight since surgery and it seemed to happen right after that. I have gotten my drinking in so far today. (20 oz) Jacque
