New job...better opportunities thin
That is so GREAT!
i have a story that is VERY difficult for me to tell.
I was in college and had been going for 3 years. I was very overweight but still active on the Color Guard (spinning flags) with the marching band. Troy State University has one of the best bands in the Southeast and I fit in. I was finally happy and thought I was finally going to go somewhere in college and pick a major and graduate. Well, the spring of my 3rd year the "NEW" captains got together and decided that they wanted spandex uniforms and I was told I would have to lose 70 lbs in about 8 weeks. Plus, I was told this was being done exclusively to get me off the squad. Yes, looking back now I should have sued them for weight discrimination. I didn't. Instead I quit school because I was so embarassed and went to Cosmetology College and became a hairdresser which I later had to quit because of leg problems. Now, in the current job I have I COULD get promoted to management without a degree and BellSouth makes money, but because I don't have a degree I hired in at a lesser amount. Granted now I make the same after almost 5 years, but I had to come up the hard way. If you are overweight, you are a 2nd class citizen. It's not fair.
Hi Julie,
I had to post also.
Do YOU think it could be from your confidence. I know I have a TON more in myself now after losing 112 lbs. People have said I am more apporachable and am not a grouch (as much). When you are unhappy with yourself, people see that too. People see the confidence and are drawn to it~ Take the job and love it!!
