Have fun in Hersheypark, it's about 20 minutes from my home. You can get discount tickets at our local grocery store, GIANT Foods. Let me know if you want more details. I, too, can drink relatively fast,I like my drinks very cold. Water is my best.

Hi Denise!!! I can use all the details and tips for saving money there that you have. We are RVing so as far as dinners, we are bringing most of our food. Do you have a grocery store that sells ready made food like ShopRite? We just discovered that store while in NJ. Also, any place that we just have to see? How much is it to get into HersheyPark? ANY help would be great. I haven't found much help otherwise. Joanne

Hello Joanne, Hersheypark is a nice park, kept very clean. They've added a handful of new roller coasters over the past 5 years. I think it's about $35.00 to get in. There is a campground about 5 minutes to the park, I do not know anything about their facilities. Hershey has an outlet center right next to the park (if that's your thing). Hershey also has chocolate world, a ride through a simulated chocolate factory with free samples (sugar free, too...NOT) and shopping, shopping, shopping. The ride is free. You can get in and out and not spend a penny, if you don't shop. The hershey website should give you info about other attractions. When you say ready made food, do you imply - cooked food that you can buy, take home and eat? most grocery stores around the hershey/harrisburg area have somewhat of a selection of ready made foods, from rotisserie chickens to fried chicken to macaroni and cheese to bruschetta, etc. Tell me about your family and i will look around here for some resources and let you know. Thanks Denise.....We are going on the 9th. I am taking my 16 year old son. We are going to the Carlisle swap meet in the mornings (for Dan) then to the park for the rest of the day. Do you have a ShopRite in that area? They have a huge selection of ready made foods. You wouldn't by any chance know the name of the campgrounds there would you? Also, about how far is Carlisle from Hershey Park? What is a must see in the area? Dan loves drag racing, my son loves, well, nothing really...typical 16 year old. And I am game for anything from amusement parks to zoos to museums to shopping. I appreciate any help. Thanks Joanne

There are no Shop Rite stores in this area. Giant is the largest chain around, with a few others. I shop at Giant and am aware that their Hersheypark discount tickets are pretty good. There is a Giant in the town of Hershey, about 5 minutes from the park. I'd bet the Giant website would talk about their discount tickets. Hershey is about 30-40 minutes from Carlisle, an easy drive on 81 to 581 to 322. If cars are what motivates the guys in your life (it doesn't do it for me), there are two dirt tracks in the area that race sprint cars on Friday nights. One is Silver Spring raceway (about 10 minutes from Carlisle on the way to Hershey), the other is Williams Grove raceway, a little further out but still close. Hershey also has an antique auto museum. Harrisburg has the PA museum, the civil war museum. Near hershey is a sports complex with race cars, video games, mini golf, etc. Can't remember the name. I think the campground I spoke about earlier is called (ta-da) the Hershey campground (only about 1-2 miles from park) there is a KOA about 10 minutes away. Need anything else, just let me know. Joanne - what kind of protein powder are you mixing with the sf tang? i may have to try it! I can dirnk propel quicker than anything, but im a pretty slow sipper. if im SUPER thirsty, like after excercising, i could drinnk a 16 oz bottle in probably 15 minutes tho!! Im so TERRIFIED of going too fast or eating/drinking too much that im overly cautious! Rachel 270/205
