Morning all. Has anyone else noticed a little bit of hunger coming back? i have noticed for the last couple of weeks that i am having stomach growling. i drink a protein shake while i am getting ready in the morning (5:30 to 6:30) and i am usually at work an hour later. My stomach will literally be growling. i make myself wait until i have the first 24 oz of water in before i eat (usually about 10:00) but i don't think this is head hunger....i am hungry. Up to this point that protein shake would have kept me full until 10:00 or after with no problem. If my body is hungry i want to feed it but i don't want to get back into old habits of snacking every time i feel a little twinge....advice, experience with this??? thanks,

Hey there, I believe it is real hunger pains, i was told that about this far out our tummy start to heal enough to *come* alive again, and just having the shake has stoped working. shakes are just liq. and that passes thru your tummy real fast. when you hungry eat something, i dont think its a old habbit, just a tummy thats hungry ,lol hugggs Mary

Hi for about 2 weeks now i have felt growling in my tummy my dr says it's not hunger but i know what i feel and it only happens when my tummy is empty. So i drink water or i eat something healthy like carb countdown yogurt or 1/2 an apple. chrissy 268/200/130

Kelly, Yes, I feel hunger in the mornings. I eat a protein bar (small U-Turn) and that does the trick for me. If you want the shake, maybe adding in some fruit or peanut butter would help keep you satisfied longer. I found that the nectar protein drinks do not keep me as satisfied as the MetRx ones made with a little fruit and ice so that it is thicker. Mary

While I haven't experienced the hunger just yet. During my 3 month post-op visit, my surgeon did mention that between3 and 6 months some old habits may begin trying to return (I'm including hunger in that) and she encouraged me to be prepared to tackle them. I'm guessing that's what some of you are going through. I'd say, if you're hungry and want something to nibble on, just make smart choices, don't consume lots of empty calories, but find ways to appease the hunger without sabotaging your success so far! My stomach is doing the same too. I didn't know it was hunger pangs. I drink water to make it stop. I am so scared that I will eat too much and the weight gain will come back too.
