I was just curious if anyone else is having this... ever sence surgery my mood swings have been horible. I mean HORIBLE!!!!!!!!! To the point where im sure my family is doing the ninja tuck and roll into the fetal possion lol when i get upset. its a few days befor my period, I had pms befor but this is just to much its emoitionaly draining now. i spent all day yesterday in tears and I chewed someone a new butt and ended up hanging up on them. of course I know they didnt deserve that but my hormons took over and it just happened. so has anyone else had this too? or am i the only insain person around? cuz thats how i feel like im going insain. Thanks for letting me vent my feelings Paula 331/257

I'm the same. I always have 1 bad day prior to my period. Then I'm fine. You have lost a great deal of weight and I'm sure your hormones are a mess. I would mention it to my PCP or surgeon. There are good drugs out there that can help you through this. Hang in there, Deb -53

I usually have a bad day or two.. I'm either really angry and would LOVE for someone to pick a fight with me, or I'm super pathetic..you know the feelings: the kids hate me; I'm lonely, fat and ugly; the dog is stupid, etc. I think it's gotten worse with age; better with weight loss. Debbie's right...talk with your doctor and see if he can help. Julie

I do have some days of being cranky, but I had those before surgery too. No real changes for me but at 52 I don't have to worry about the monthly thing any longer (such a blessing). Definitely talk to your doctor about it. There has to be something to help you. My understanding is that the fat cells in our bodies store hormones in them, so when we have rapid weight loss many times those hormones go a little bonkers. Sending you hugs, Mary

I have not had that problem, but my understanding is that as we lose the fat, hormones are also being released, which cause the mood swings. Of course add the monthly thing & PMS to that and boom! I agree, see your doctor to see if there is anything that can help.

Paula, I might as well be an expert in the mood swings department since mine over the years have been pretty awful, too. Do you exercise regularly? I have noticed that my mood swings aren't nearly so bad when I do. I've always had bad PMS and mood swings in general, and when I couldn't exercise much, it was much worse. You don't have to do it super intensely, either, but exercise really does help. Linn
