I just ate a WHOLE grilled cheese! (minus one bite) I feel full....but not uncomfortable. I haven't eaten very much bread at all since surgery for fear of "plugging myself" (for lack of a better term). I'm feeling pretty good so far....keep your fingers crossed I know this is a strange post, but I am SO surprized!!! Sherri C 242/184/140 RNY 2/16/04

Sherri, I think some days we all can eat more than others. Toasted bread is easier to digest than soft bread and melted cheese would add moisture to the mix. I know once in a while I can eat a whole ta****hicken not beef) and then the next time only be able to eat 1/3 to 1/2 of one. I never know day to day. I try to do a great deal of portion control watching the sizes and stopping even if I don't feel full. The old Mary ate quantity and never felt full normally. The new Mary eats quality and eats till satisfied rather than full. (I'm not perfect with this approach but I sure do try.) Mary

I can eat nearly a whole sandwhich, minus the crust. I ate 2/3 of one Sunday. It is kind of scary though. I'm like Joanne, and afraid I'm getting back into my old habits. Debbie 229/177/140-130

Isn't it awful the mind games we play with ourselves?????????? I haven't eaten a whole sandwich yet for two reasons 1.) I try to stay away from breads 2.) I am too scared to try cause I bet I could!!!!

I eat a tomato sandwich for lunch everyday. I do not eat the crust and by the time I am done probably not even enough to consider a full slice of bread but it's the tomatoes my body is craving. I add a slice of cheese to at least give it some protein. I will eat beef jerky later in the afternoon to give me more protein. I seem to have a problem with protein drinks and shakes, I HATE them, they make me sick! There are some days when I can't quite eat all the sandwich but I will eat the tomatoes and for go the bread. Good luck! Tiff Lap RNY 2/17/04; 245lbs, now 193lbs.; personal goal 150, Dr. goal 136)

A tomato sandwich sounds yummy. I haven't found any good ones yet. My neighbor has a garden, so I hope she will have some soon. Debbie

Oh, its great to know I'm not the only one who craves tomatoes! I just want them all the time. This weekend I went to the farmers market and got home grown ones. They were great! I also can't stand the traditional protien drinks. However, I have found the Isopure sports drink in a bottle is ok. I've been using those to help with the protien because I just have to have my tomatoes. Eileen

hi Tiffany I have question....I LOVE tomato sandwiches!!!!!! I was wondering....do you have a hard time with the skin on the tomato? I have been scared of it and haven't eaten the skin.....the same for apples. So yes and strange as it sounds I peel my tomatoes. -Vanessa -100 lbs
