And now for a male point of view: I'm happy for you all that you now enjoy going out to eat. I've been out to eat a few times too, and I was so afraid of dumping that I was very careful what I ate. At first (after about 2 months,) I was REALLY afraid, but now I'm getting more used to what I can eat and what I can't. My wife and I went to Olive Garden and Split a dinner and STILL brought some home!!!!! Then we went to a steak place and I ordered the smallest steak on the menu, (6oz.) and I couldn't fini****! (I used to eat a 24oz. with all the trimmings!!!! I'm still getting used to it. I still feel the sting from when I'd be in line to get food at work when we were having a group dinner for something or other, and someone would say "I should have gotten ahead of HIM in line, so there would be some food left." OUCH!!!! That used to get me so angry! Now those type of comments have stopped. I'm feeling much happier and healthier. Best wishes to all of you on your journey. Tom

I am so happy for you. I know how you feel. My best friend and I are doing this together (she had hers two weeks after mine). We go out for seafood once a month and we have to take a non-surgery friend so we can have a bite of the stuff we want. She and I had a crab leg each, a couple of shrimp, and a bite or two of salmon and our non-surgery friend ended up with the rest. Of course we also split a margarita and it was sooooooo good. It feels good to go out with friends and have it be about the friends and not the food. I don't know about you but I seem to taste my food more and really enjoy it. I have finally left my plautau and the weight is jumping off me again. Now I am going to have to hit GW and buy different vacation clothes. I think I am going to resort to wrap around skirts that can shrink with me. I want you all to know that even though I don't have time to post alot (my only computer is at work right now) that I read your posts and you guys have all helped me through the rough spots. I love you all.

I think you hit the nail on the head! It is about being with friends and enjoying them, and food is secondary. Have fun shopping for your vacation clothes. I absolutely love my Walmart skorts. I feel really confident in them. They are long enough to cover all my imperfections, but sassy enough to make me feel in style. Hugs, Debbie -52.5 Still holding. I must be going into a plateau. Sigh........
