Another *normal* evening out...

I can't tell you how much I enjoy going out to eat now, and how much more fun I am to be around. IMHO ;) We got together with a few parents from my son's baseball team. I'm not so hung up on my appearance and size. I ate without worry. I pushed my plate away when I was full. I glanced at the food that was left on my plate and it was about the same amount of food left on one of the other mother's plate. She is a small to normal sized woman. It makes me feel so good to know I can eat like others and not be hungry and have a good time too. I have eaten out more in the last 4 months than I have in the last 4 years. This is what surgery was meant to be for me. To be healthy first, and more normal second. I just had to share my non-scale victory Hugs, Debbie -52.5 Oh one more thing. I braved taking a few sips of a margarita. Let me tell you, it is instant buzz! My husband said it was like "main lining" LOL, but the buzz wore off within 30 minutes. I'm not a drinker, but it looked so refreshing. It was.

That is WONDERFUL!!!!. I know the feeling of going out and not having to worry that people are staring anymore. You look amazing and if I can be half as pretty as you then MY surgery will be well worth it. Congrats again!!!! Noelle G

You are so sweet to say that. I need to get a decent picture made, so I can put it on my profile. Thanks, Debbie

You sound so good every time you post....like your life just keeps getting better and better. I'm so glad for you. I'll bet you are more fun to be around. One of my son's friends told me I was different. When I questioned him, he said, "well, happier, I think." I was surprised that he noticed because I didn't realize I was behaving differently. I'll bet most of us have changed if you ask those around you. Julie

Your post makes me smile because I have very similar thoughts. I find pleasure in so many things I couldn't do or wouldn't do before. I have had a few "drinks" since surgery and it effects me quickly, I am teased by my husband as a cheap date , but a sure thing?

It is fun sharing our journey together, isn't it. We all had our surgery within weeks, so it is natural to be feeling the same things. I'm glad for this Feb. board. Debbie

Julie, You know my life is getting better every day. I use to try to make up excuses in my head for not wanting to go places. I don't know how many times I have tried to fake illness. My biggest concern now is, what will I wear. LOL I still have the day to day problems everyone else has, messy house, not enough money and so on, but my weight isn't my biggest problem anymore. I think we are all changing, or our old selves are coming out againg. Debbie

Julie, I've had a number of people tell me that they always thought I was a happy person before surgery BUT now they tell me I'm beaming!!! I know it has made a huge difference for me. Mary

"Main lining" I agree --it is nice to hear how happy you are! I'm a lot happier too. I find myself looking forward to going places instead of hiding out at home. It's great isn't it??? Linda -55
