It's over! It's finally over!!!!! Not my plateau (rats) but school. I am finally done with this semester. I finished up tonight. I have been AWOL because of school. Now that I am done, I can devote more time to being on the boards. I should be devoting more time to exercise (WHO SAID THAT????? ) But now there is a huge relief taken off my shoulders. So everyone....what have you all been up to? Anyone hit a plateau yet except me???? It's been 3 weeks and I hn't lost a damn thing. Not even inches. I am re-evaluating my diet and changing it accordingly. I have been getting in too many carbs even though I don't eat white carbs. It's all that damn low carb food, like ice cream, cookies, candy. So as of yesterday I stopped it all. Tomorrow I am hoping to show some movement in the scale. Ok, ok, a little weird but know how you know your eating too much???? You poop a whole lot more. I was haing a BM every 3-4 days before. Now it is 3-4 times a day!!!!! So I am backing off on everything except liquids. I increased that along with protein via 3 protein shakes a day. They only have 90 calories so it makes a great snack. So tell me everyone, what have you been up to and how is your weightloss going???? Joanne -59

Glad to see that you are back Joanne. I have been AWOL also, but because of work---doing training for everyone (every shift). My whole weight loss journey has been 2 week plateaus followed by a large weight drop. I have mapped it out and dare not weigh myself only every 2 weeks. I recently joined a gym for strength training and have finally caught up to weighing the same as my husband (that has never happened in our whole 15 year relationship). Dorothy 325/243/165 -82 pounds

I really don't have much of a pattern....I think. I did stop losing for about a month then lost a bunch of weight. But I don't know if this is the second round of that pattern. The first time, I lost inches. This time I didn't. geez...it would be nice to lose a bunch after not losing anythign for so long. I can't wait until I weigh less than everyone else in my family. My son's are about 185 each and my fiance is, now that I think about it...he's 185 too. So I can kill 3 birds with one stone if I can ever get into the hundreds again. I haven't seen the hundreds since....oh....my early teens. Congratulations on your 82!!!! WooHoo!!!!!!! Joanne

Joanne, You might find too that the sugar alcohols in the low carb foods are causing a laxative like affect so that you are going more. Definitely a good idea to back off from them. I think it is easy to start eating things because they are low carb instead of because they are good for us and what our bodies need. I try (don't always succeed) to keep the low carb cookies, ice cream, bars (except for true protein bars, not the low carb goody bars) out of the house. Most days I don't care about them. We don't want to get back into old habits. I'm down 89 lbs total and feeling great. So much energy too. Mary

Hi Mary! Nope, they didn't cause a laxative effect. It was pure out and out eating too much. Laxatives cause loose movement, mine wasn't. I am replacing the ice cream with sf popcicles. Everyone says those are ok to eat. As for the cookies...no replacement there, just have to give them bad boys up! 89??????? WOW! That is great!!!!! Can't wait until I say that. love ya! Joanne

Joanne, SF popsicles, creamsicles, snow cones are all good options when you need a treat. Mary

I am headed to the store today to pick up some of these. I found some sf pops at superwalmart that have flavors like tangerine, pina colada, etc. Dan loves the creamcicles. They are pretty good too. Going back to basics is sure making me feel better.

Hey, it's nice to have you back. Was this the end of the degree or just the end of this semester? Either way, I'm sure you're glad to have the summer off. I tend to lose alot, then go 2-3 weeks with nothing which is where I think I'm headed now. No loss in about 8 days, but I'm not complaining. I initially told my husband I would be satisfied if I could just get down to where I'm at right now. I was wrong; I'm happier, but I'd still like to get down more. The last week or two, I've had a little trouble eating; not really difficulty getting it down, but I'm just not hungry at all, nothing tastes really great, and I get full very easily. That's making it kind of tough to get in enough calories and water, but I'm hoping it's a temporary kind of thing. Never in my life, have I had to MAKE myself eat. Very strange. But life is good....summer is nice.....the new swing in the backyard by the pond is heavenly. Julie 247/185/ 140 goal

Hi Julia!!!! It's great to be back. it is the end of the semester and I don't quite have the summer off. Only for a month. I go back in July for my LAST semester. I keep thinking to myself if I don't lose anymoire I'll be happy. That is partly true. I like where I am now but would rather lose another 50. I think the scales are starting to move again but I don't want to post anything until tomorrow. Seems for 3 weeks it would go up and down 2 pounds. So tomorrow I should know for sure if it is a real loss. That swing sounds really heavenly. I love that idea of a swing by a pond. The only thing that would stop me from using it is spiders. I hate them and if there was ANY chance of one being on it, I wouldn't use it. That kinda ruins my summer fun. AND I LIVE IN THE COUNTRY!!!!! Love ya!!! Joanne
