new to this board
hi patty!
congrats on the 68 lb loss!! Thats great! I am also loosing my hair and I am starting to kind of freak out about it b/c its always been my "crowning glory" so to speak but I am dealing and it will get better. I dont have any good ideas for food...I eat the same things alot and I am struggling with eating sugar right now. I can eat it and I am starting to fall back into old patterns and its scary!! I go to the gym at least three times a week and try to do 20 mins of weights and 30 or more of cardio! Welcome to our little board...this board is nice b.c we are more closely connected and people respond and know you better than on the big board!!

Patty,
Welcome. Hope to see you posting more often.Congratulations on your weight loss. That is GREAT.
I haven't lost any hair yet. I use a biotin based shampoo and conditioner, hope that is helping. I get it at Whole Foods here in California. Biotin is suppose to help with hair loss in preventing it.

Patty,
Congratulations!!
As for menus suggestions, I don't have a lot. I'm at the point where I'm eating just about anything. I've had barbecued ribs, shrimp scampi, pork tenderloin, ham, beef, chicken cooked any number of ways, etc. I haven't really changed my cooking habits, I just eat what seems to appeal (as much as that's possible when I still don't have an appetite) or what's on the menu.
I have been taking the Zinc since about 10 days post op, and also take Biotin daily. I definitely notice that I've got more hair in the shower when I'm done, but my hairdresser hasn't commented on a hair loss, so I guess it's not noticeable, because she would certainly tell me. Keep working on the proteins, fluids, supplement/vitamins and hopefully you can minimize the loss.
