Howdy
It has been awhile since I have posted on the board. I have had alot going on between work and kids and kids sports and all the other mess of daily life. I don't know about where anyone else lives but I have found my clothing salvation at the Goodwill (or as my friend and I call it the GW boutique). Ours have a $.99 sale about once a month and that is when I go and stock up on pants in 2 to 3 sizes to last me. They usually have nice stuff and name brands. I give my bigger clothes to a friend of mine who had the surgery a couple of weeks after me so she is the size above me. I can sew but finding the time to alter anything is almost impossible. I have lost 60 lbs so far and am feeling good. started taking yoga class at the gym and walk my dogs on the nights my boys don't have ball practice or games. It is so good to see everyone on the losing side. I never dreamed I could be in a size 14 and now it looks possible to be in a 12 before the end of summer. Yippie
I have found that I hit slumps of no weight loss and it tends to get me down but I just remind myself of where I was (tight 24) and where I am now and that makes me feel better. I love you all and even though I don't have time to post alot I do read and I apprecaite all the encouragement you give.
I love the yoga classes. Unfortunately I jumped in a bit above my head.
The beginner Yoga class starts at 5:00 and I work about 20 miles from the gym so I can't make the class I should be in. So instead I go to the 6:30 POWER YOGA class. I just rest in the child pose when I can't go on. The class lasts about an hour and a half and it is such a destresser. They are harder than they look but I feel so good after wards at least until I try to get out of bed the next day. Then I wonder what I did to myself but I go back none the less. I am told I will feel better after 10 classes. I also bought a video tape that follows my class pretty close. It is the John Baptiste yoga class that lasts about an hour. I wait until the boys are in bed, turn off the lights, light some candles, and put on the tape. Same as the class when I get to the point I can't go on I go to child pose (on your knees leaned forward with your forehead on the floor arms at your side). I find as an ADHD adult that it relaxes and calms me better than anything else I have found. You should try it. I think you will really enjoy it.
Helloooooooooo Susan I wish that we had a "decent" good will up here . . . everytime I go - all the clothes that I would "be caught" in are either too big or too small . . . so currently I'm sporting men's polyester pants & shirts w/butterfly collars . . . ok, I'm not really . . . but if I bought from our g.w. that's what I'd be looking like
I'm looking forward to reading more of your posts!!!
