Another 3 month Dr. Visit

Today is three months since my surgery. I was a self-pay with Dr. Aguirre in Ensenada, Mexico, so my PCP is following me now for check-ups. I have lost 60#, but the best thing was my labs. I was a Type II diabetic before surgery, trying (unsuccessfully) to control my sugar levels with diet (hate that word!) and exercise. My labs today were phenomenal! My Ha1C (indicator of blooc sugar levels), which should be below 6.5, were 8.2 before surgery and 6.1 today. Cholesterol (should be below 200), was 232 before surgery and is 164 now. Triglycerides went from 377 to 168, and LDL went from 115 to 91. Both my PCP and I are thrilled!!! My TSH before surgery showed I needed a higher dose of thyroid hormone. Now I need to decrease it! I am also almost off of my CPAP machine for sleep apnea. I spend about half the night with it on the top of my head. Don't know if I can sleep in complete quiet after having it for a few years! I thank the good Lord that I found the OH site so that I could learn about the surgery from those who have been there and also that I was able to find an excellent surgeon into whose hands I put my life. He gave it back to me but better! Congratulations to all of my "3 Month Family"! We're doing great! Charlotte
