Talk about set backs!
Hi Everyone! I haven't been a good girl and posting lately! I've just been trying to deal within myself.... I thought I was doing pretty good with my weight loss, but went to three different doctors last Thursday to find out, my scale has been wrong!!! I thought I had lost 57lbs, but found out that it's 47lbs.... Now don't get me wrong, that's still good (not as good as I would like it to be, but good non the less). I was just so disapointed with the whole deal though.... To be totally honest, I thought that I was losing on the slow side as it was (surgery 2/5/04) and now it's even slower.... how depressing! All my doctors say I'm doing fantastic and I know in my head and heart that I will get there eventually, but it's still hard sometimes. My OBGYN started me on birth control to boot and I feel like I'm always hungry. The funny thing is, if I let myself stay hungry for to long and I finally do eat, my stomache hurts and I get the feeling of fullness so quickly. Does this happen to anyone else? I know that I'm a bad carb head because crackers don't hurt to eat, but I've been trying to slow down on them. Sometimes I wonder just how many calories I eat in a day... I've NEVER been good at counting calories... I tried to do it today and wasn't to successful. I guess knowing an estimated figure is better than not knowing at all.... for all I know I might be eating to much or not enough! If everyone could, please keep me in your prayers to do better with EVERYTHING!!!! There's still so much to learn!

Hi Milissa,
I'm a calorie expert. List what you ate today and I'll give you a ball park number. Don't forget to list amounts, half cup, quarter cup, etc.
By the way my surgery was 1 week before yours (1/28/04). I went in at 280 lbs. Now 15 weeks later I'm only down 45 lbs. Now that's a slow loser. I was very depressed about it for a long time, but now I just figure there is not a darn thing I can do about it (there's no going back), so I just keep doing what I'm doing (excercise, water, watch what I eat) and wait for the pounds to come off later rather then sooner.
Take Care,
Millie
I am also a slooooow looser & yes its sooooo frustrating I could just scream but i am the same as u when i get real hungry & then eat something I'm FULL right away
i have to wait 5-10 min before i can finish the food i think its b/c i eat too fast & take too big a bite & the pouch fills up too quickly

I wouldn't worry too much about the differences in scales. My scale at home always gives me a different number than my doctors. One month out my scale told me I weighed 290 and my doctor's 295. 2 months out my scale said 269 and his said 273 so thry aren't ever the same. I go by my scale because it makes me feel better. According to my scale I now weigh 261.
Hi i am so glad i am not alone! my husband thinks i am not doing enough. I am down about 50 pounds, my surgery was on the 25th. I got a bad infection and was rehospitalized, and am still attending wound care for my open insion. I found out my iron is really low so I hope the supplaments will increase my energy. also as far as the "diet" goes i have only been worrying about my protien intake. so I am also curious about calorie intake. thanks Kimberly Neff
I started with similiar stats as you. I did weight 279 I am down to 214. I fight for every pound. I also exercise 4-5 days a week 1 hour cardio and 3 days a week weight training. I usually walk an additional 2 days. I also have really cut the carbs. If this helps I have never been a slow looser. as fast as I loose is as fst as I gain. I just have not been able to maintain for more then a year.
I was on birth control pills for about a month and they stopped my weight loss completely. I just went back to using condoms since the pills are not as reliable when you weigh more.
