B-12 and liver enzymes

I am 3 months post-op lap RNY and just got back labs. My B-12 is normal. When do you consider shots? Is it automatic or do they wait for it to drop? Also, liver enzymes are through the roof but the metabolic MD is not concerned...should I be? Has this happened to anyone and does it go back to normal? Thanks for your help.

I am not a doctor. But i can bet your liver enzymes were up before your surgery. your liver takes awhile to regenerate so that is why your doc is not concerned. It should start to come down within your doc's recommended time. I would call your doctors office and ask them when the time frame is for your enzymes to get better, some of my friends were 6 mos before they saw improvement. remember everyone is different. If your B12 is normal you shouldnt need shots but talk to your doctor and let him decide kelly
