Antidepressants and weightloss

I feel like I NEED to get back on my antidepressants but I am afraid it will hinder my weightloss. Can ya'll share your experiences with antidepressants and your weightloss. Thank you in advance for your input. kim 263.5/214.5/145 lap RNY 2/17/04 -49

Kim, I never really stopped taking my antidepressants. They just needed to be crushed until I was 8 weeks out. I feel I need them now more than ever!! It has not hindered my weightloss at all. I am just over 3 months and have lost 55 lbs. Hope this helps. Jacque

I have been worrying about the same thing. I was on Wellbutrin before surgery but haven't taken it since. I have a new script for it but I'm not sure my tummy is ready for it. It is time released so I can't cru**** I'm trying to hang on without it but the depression has been creeping back big time. So I'm interested in other people's input too. Hang in there Kim. I take prozac and I have lost 58lbs. I can't live without the pills. Joanne

I take effexor short acting everyday and I took the extended release before surgery. I havent had any inhibitance from this and I think I would be lost without it! sarah
