CAN YOU EAT THIS???
I can not eat chicken period...makes me ill everytime....But some days i can eat more than others....today I have had...one SoyNutty protein bar(150 cals) and meatloaf from Cracker Barrel( 1/2 slice meat loaf 1 1/2 teaspoon of mashed potatoes). Dinner will be a burger minus the bun from Sonic....my niece calls it my burger salad becasue i chop it up and add salad dressing....
I ate a whole taco last week that I made at home, shell and all, and it was one of the larger taco shells. It took me about 1/2 hour to eat the whole thing, but I did! I thought I was eating too much, too, but it sure was good and I didn't have any problems from it. Sometimes I can do chicken and sometimes I can't. Tried a little homemade cheeseburger (no bun) on Sunday - - took two small bites and knew it wasn't agreeing - - threw it up later. Have had steak and it stayed down fine.
A question ( I posted this on the main board, too): When you eat something that disagrees with you, how does it feel? Mine feels like the worst case of heartburn I've ever had. I don't even necessarily have to eat to have this happen - - happened twice on water and twice after taking my BP medication (not going to take it anymore - - BP isn't that high now, and it's not staying down anyway, so why take it!) Anyway, when this happens it just burns and hurts so bad that I throw it up anywhere between 1/2 hour to 2 hours later. Laying down does not relieve it, makes it worse. Sometimes walking helps to not throw up, but not all the time. I had GERD and took medication for it long before surgery, but not after. I have thrown up about three times in the last week (once on water, once on the cheesburger, and once on the medication), and think the GERD may have again reared it's head. Have a call into the surgeon about it, so hope to hear soon what it might be. Anybody else had this?
Only good part of this little problem is that I've lost 4 pounds in about 4 days!!
Yes, I agree its weird how our pouches react to food - - one would think spicy food would give me problems, but it doesn't seem to. Very weird!!!

I really do not think that you are talking about much food. I think it is good that you can eat most of a chicken leg - good source of protein! I went to Sonic over the weekend and ordered a grilled chicken wrap. It is the size of a taco bell burrito. I ate almost 1/2 of the insides of it (chicken, lettuce, tomato, and lite ranch dressing) it was very good and I felt guilty eating all of it and then I remembered that pre-surgery I would have eaten a whole cheeseburger and fries and a soda. So I got over the guilt really fast!
