CAN YOU EAT THIS???
Girl, that makes me feel so much better. I thought I shouldn't be able to eat a whole taco. That is why this board is so great. You all are at my stage so I can turn to you.
Although I ate mine a little faster. like 15-20 minutes. When we walked out of the restaurant (taco bell) I was thinking that I could eat another one...something must be wrong with me. I didn't get another one but I thought of it.
Scary.

I don't eat fried foods much at all but when I do...shoot, skin and all! I love fried chicken. Pre-op I didn't eat fried foods often either. I had some fried chicken wings the other day that were so good. I can only eat 2-3 peices though (not the whole wings).
For that little amount and the fact that I have only had it twice since surgery, I eat the skin.
This board is so great!

Yes, I can eat a whole taco, hard shell and all. I don't do dark meat, but I imagine 2 small chicken tenderloins would equal a leg. Yes, I can do it too. I ate a whole grilled hamburger patty for supper. I left off the bun, but piled on the fixings. I was hurting and had to go lay down. I can eat more at night than early in the day.

Thanks for making me feel normal! I thought I was being a pig again. Now I know that I am supposed to be at this stage if all of you are. I haven't been able to do a whole burger yet. I can eat 3/4 of it. But I find the meat to fiberous for me right now.
I never noticed if I can eat more or less at certain times of the day. I have one of those stomachs made of cast iron. Nothing really bothers it.

No problem for me. If I'm craving fast food, I buy a soft taco supreme and can eat the whole thing. (I usually wind up throwing away the ends of the tortilla with nothing in them, but can eat it if I want).
And I ate a roasted chicken leg on Saturday. I can also eat almost all the meat on a thigh piece. My surgeon recommended dark meat since it is generally moister and it seems to go down easier than breast meat.
And have you noticed that you can eat more at different times of day? I can always eat more in the late afternoon or evening than I can in the morning.

YAY we are normal..there are so many days that I freak out and think, "OMG! You did not just eat ALL that". I read too often about people eating 2 bites and being soooooooooooooooo FuLL and oh they couldn't move for hours and blah blah.....yeah right...I have not tried, but am more than certain that I can easily eat an entire taco bell taco. I keep thinking that my pouch is streched or something....I need to do the cottage cheese test. PLus I eat too fast. I really commend you guys for taking 15-20 minutes plus. I take like 5-10 minutes....I am bad...I know if I eat slower I would feel fuller faster and eat less. Do you guys think this pouch streching is over rated? Like you would REALLY have to be bad very oftern to strech it--right? I hope so...Not eating like just feeling full-full..not like busting out of the seems....but nice and full. I worry ever time I get the full feeling that I over did it. I guess we are just supposed to feel, "satisfied" not FULL.....but unless I am full I am not really satisfied and it doesn't feel like an offical meal and it messes with my brain!!! and makes me feel hungry when I am actually not....
I don't know about the pouch stretching...but it scares me. I completely understand what Joanne was talking about several posts back. I always panic if I feel "full" and I'm sure I've eaten too much.
I have two good friends who have had surgery and are now 2-4 years out. One has gained some back, but she'll voluntarily tell you that she doesn't eat right and doesn't exercise.
The other, a guy, eats everything he's not supposed to, never takes a vitamin or exercises (I'm on him alot) and he's kept it off with little problem.
I think it's kind of a "luck of the draw" thing. Same reason some people lose to below goal and others struggle to get there at all.
