Okay, today I was able to eat almost a whole chicken leg. And earlier, I ate almost a whole taco from taco bell. Probably could have eaten it all but didn't want all of the carbs from the shell. Can anyone else eat a whole taco or chicken leg? Joanne

I sure can. I can eat 2 soft shell taco with chesse in about a half hour. I can also eat a chicken breast (no skin) in about 20 mins.

That is so great I am not the only one. I ate the taco in like 15-20 minutes but left a little shell (my way of being good with the carbs ) I ate most of the chicken leg late last night and it started hurting. So after a while when the pain wasn't too bad, I went to bed...without taking my meds. Couldn't fit them in. This board rocks!!!! Joanne

Joanne, If the chicken was super moist, then maybe. If it was dry at all, no way. Tacos ... I can eat a shrimp or fish taco from LaSalsa (seafood, cabbage, avocado, cheese, sauce) but typcially only take a bite or two of the tortilla. I find some days I can eat more than others. Moisture in the food makes a huge difference. The other day I had some mushroom chicken from Panda Express and finally gave it to my husband because it was just too easy to eat and I knew I had hit my 2 oz mark. It was super moist and so good. Other days, I can barely eat 1/4 of a cup on items that are drier. So weird how our tummies now react. I just try not to eat more than 1/4 to 1/2 cup of food at a time. Mary

I have to say that I don't measure much anymore. Wish I did sometimes. I eyeball it mostly. And if it is liquidy like what I am having right now (yogurt, strawberries) then I don't measure. My brain see's 1/4 of a cup and says "That's it???" So it is scary. Although I am losing well so I don't want to change things. Joanne

I don't measure much anymore either. I know this sounds stupid, but if I measure, I feel deprived and I become determined to eat every bite I'm allowed even if I don't really want it. If I just eat until I feel full, I usually eat less and I feel like I'm eating to satisfaction so it makes my brain happier! Wierd,I know, but for some reason it works better for me. Julie

We all have to do what we can to "trick" ourselves. My worry is that I am going to still be eating to much when I am at goal. My problem isn't types of food...it is amounts. I was thinking about that yesterday. What if I gain it back? The possibility of gaining some is very high for most of us. How will I feel about myself? How will my fiance feel about me? I asked him that too. He said he wants whatever makes me happy. *sigh* I guess I have just been thinking about failing lately and how I will handle that emotionally. Never ending battles. Joanne

Joanne, I don't physically measure, I eyeball the amounts too. Mary

Joanne, No problem on the whole chicken leg. Chickens are my friends. Especially if they're fried. Ok, I take the skin off. But I can't eat nuked or reheated chicken. Makes me toss it right quick. Go figure. Windy

Joanne, I think you are fine. chicken legs are not that big if you actually stripped the meat off of it. When i order a regular taco at the local mexican restaurant i can eat all the insides (meat, cheese, lettuce, sour cream) with no problem. it takes me about 20 to 30 minutes to eat it. i don't eat the flour or crunchy shells only because i don't miss them and don't want the carbs but i suspect i could down that too if i wanted.
