Do you have a favorite exercise that you do? How often do you exercise? I love riding my exercise bike. I try to ride it each day. I need to alter my swimsuit too so that I can go back to the pool at our gym. I love to swim, but walk laps in the pool with my husband who doesn't swim. We had worked up to an hour before surgery. As a new post-op, I was only allowed to walk for the first 8 weeks. Now can start incorporating more exercise into my routine. I still walk every day and find that I don't have the hip and knee pain I had before and can walk faster too. So neat to be able to keep up with my hubby most times now. Mary

I hate exercise. I want to say I love it one day. I guess I can get off this computer and schedule time, huh. LOL I think outdoor walking would be my favorite. I used to have one of those glider things that I really liked, but my 10 year old broke one of the cables. Debbie -44

I am with Debbie, i hate to exercise....i have a treadmill, tapes, pilates, yoga, tai chi,,,,,all in my home and i hate it...i used to be such a athlete but not right now. noooo excuses for me at all....but i have a lot of trouble with me knees and my feet and it hurts to walk...my feet are still very swollen by the middle of the day and i work two jobs so usually leave my house at 6:30 in the am and get home about 8:30 at least 4 nights a wee****ep hoping that when i get a little more weight off that the feet/knee pain will stop and i will be able to hop on that treadmill with a big ol' grin on my face cause i know from past experiences that i feel better after i exercise.........

Debbie, I use to never like to exercise, now I look forward to it. Never thought that would happen to me!!! I have a gazelle that I use too. Works pretty well, but I like the bike better. Mary

Favorite Exercise hmmm?? Isn't that an oxymoron?? To be completely honest all that I have been doing is walking. I walk my little dog daily as well as go to the gym 3 times weekly & get on the treadmill. I have found though, that in order for me to break a sweat anymore that I need to really add an incline as well as speed it up almost to a jog. I also find that I am able to go for almost an hour now, where as when I started, I was only at a 1/2 hour. I tried a spinning class, but my rear end just couldn't handle it (literally) & I really wanted to try water aerobics, but I can't find anything that I feel comfortable enough in to wear (I called my local pool & they don't allow t-shirts/shorts). Hopefully that will all change soon though Amanda -36

Oh, Amanda. Don't let clothes keep you from water aerobics. Find a bathing suit, swallow your pride and go! It's great fun and it's so much easier to begin that than some of the other types of exercise. Julie

Amanda, Walking is wonderful exercise. I think that is great. There are many new swimsuit styles that have what they call "boy legs" and are a short style. I bought a suit at JC Pennys today that was bottoms and tops sold separately. Tops were blouson style. Best part they were 50% off each piece. Lane Bryant, Romans, LandsEnd all have the suit sold to mix and match the style that works for you. Mary

Isn't the water great. I got a new swim suit today so planning to hit the pool tomorrow. Walking is wonderful exercise too. My surgeon would only allow me to walk the first 8 weeks after surgery. Mary

Mary, I never ever thought I would say this but...I love the treadmill! I go to the gym 3-4 times per week and walk 15 minutes on the treadmill then switch to a cross training machine then back to the treadmill. Next week I get to progress to light weight training and I can't wait. I have never liked to exercise and was always to embarassed to go to the gym. I finally decided - I had this major surgery and *****ally cares what I look like walking on the treadmill. I just want to be healthy! Good luck in trying out different types of exercise. You will find the one that is right for you. Liz
