Did anyone else notice how close we all are in weight loss? When we were all starting out, it seemed like you could always find someone who was losing faster, slower than you, but now....Most of us are in the 45-55 pound range. It appears that it all DOES even out in the long run. Personally, I find that very encouraging and it helps to get through those little plateaus that hit every now and then. Julie -54

I love this little group. I feel connected more to you guys than to anyone else on the boards. I just wish we all posted more often. I keep coming here but sometimes no one posts. Here's to us February babies! Joanne -52

I wish people would post more often too. I post on my state board and occaisionally on the main board, but I feel the people on this board are at the same point in my journey. Hugs, Debbie -44 @ 3 month post op

i was writing a post then lost it so it may show up 1/2 done i too love this february board. i like to see how all of us are doing. i made a promise to myself to start posting on this board more often instead of just being a lurker AND to get my lazy hiney up earlier in the AM to exercise.....so here i am. Hope to learn more about each of you as this journey continues. Also i need to make a confession i think. i posted last week that i had hit 50 pounds buttttttt after refiguring i realized it is only 46 in 11 weeks. i went into surgery at 281 and am now 235. so please consider me confessed!!!!hahahahhaaa. i am tickled pink with the 46 pounds in 11 weeks.

I think you are doing fabulous! I'm finally realizing how much I have lost. My daughter weighs 40lbs (she is 6 1/2 years old, small thing) I pulled her up in my lap, and I realized that I was lugging her around plus 4 lbs. I just can't fathom that. My husband said I'm getting squishy. He said I'll be bones, if I loose another 50lbs. We'll see how I look and feel closer to goal. I may have to change my goal. I don't want to be a stick. I like curves. Keep posting! Hugs, Debbie - 44 @ 3 month anniversary today

I had a very similar experience this weekend; my 3 year old grandaughter came to visit and she wanted to weigh herself; she weighed 36 pounds and I couldn't believe that I had lost 1 1/2 of her! No wonder its easier to walk, run and just generally do my housework! Julie

I have noticed that too. I felt very slow at first, but actually I'm plugging right along. I'm using the "thinnerself" website and I'm at 80% for my loss. I know I will make my goal, but it might be in 10 months - 12 months and not 7 like some folks. I know it will increase if I ever get into an exercise routine. Debbie -44@ 3 months post op

I am with you! i have no doubts that i will meet my goal as long as i keep doing what i am supposed to be doing....but i don't see myself doing it in less than a year. always hopeful but not expecting. question: did you surgeon give you a goal weight or target to shoot for? i don't remember that ever being discussed in the pre surgery class or with the surgeon. i know the stats are a certain % but i don't want to even look at that cause it might depress me

He actually asked me what my goal weight was. I just told him 130lbs. because that is what the bmi chart says I should weigh to be normal. I would be in the mid range of normal. I think I will be happy at 140. If 140 comes and I feel and look decent I will try to stay there. Debbie

My surgeon says 135 lbs....LOL!!!! My 5' daughter (age 19) weighs 135 lbs and I doubt if I'll ever see it. Thinnerself says the average for a 5'4" woman at 45 years of age is 163 lbs. I'd be delighted to just get there! Julie
