Morning Yesterday, I managed to squeeze myself into my step-mothers size 16 capris (I'm going on vacation & I've outgrown mine & I'm too cheap to buy new ones) & I was sooo excited when I did . . . but I was thinking . . . I know that sizes can vary from brand to brand, but I don't remember being this size the last time that I weighed this (219 this morning). I mean previously at 219 I was more like a size 20. I don't know if this makes any sense, but I was curious to see if anyone else was experiencing this. It's not like it's a bad thing at all . . . but it's just sooo weird!!! Amanda -36

They were doing a story on the news the other day that manufacturers have adjusted their sizes to accommodate America's growing girth. In other words - what is now a 12 used to be a 14 or more. According to the story, it's all an attempt to help the shopper feel better about herself. Charlotte

Hi Amanda, The sizes have changed, I have some old size 18's that I used to wear about 7 years ago (OMG), and they zip up right now, just I have alot hanging over still...lol. But I bought some jeans this last weekend, I fit just fine into a size 16. So sized have definately changed!! And so has the waist line.......it's much lower now, which I prefer!! My sis hates the lower waistline. Anyhow, times are changing and so are we!!!! Tracie -60 lbs

I agree, what use to be a 16 is now a 12 or 14. The high end fashion designers also cut their designs a little fuller. It makes any customer feel so much better when they can slip into a smaller size which is one of the reasons.
