New to this board.......
Hello everyone!
I am Katherine and had my surgery Feb 25th of this year. In two more days, I will be 8 weeks out and 30 pounds lighter. Getting my water in is sometimes difficult but I always get my protein in....one way or another.
I'm glad I found this board, then I can visit with you folks who had your surgeries near my own time wise. I'm able to eat a cup of food at a time (mostly soft still) and my nurse says I am doing tremendously.
I was on over 200 Units of Insulin a day for diabetes before surgery, now down to just 36 Units a day. Half of my blood pressure meds have been taken away and my cholesteral went from 400? to 139 as of last weeks blood work up. I am so happy. I walk for an hour a day and have just started to go to water aerobics three times a week at the gym.
I've had no major complications and I am very pleased with this surgery. I weigh 244 today, down from 274 on the day of surgery. It's going to be a long ride, but an exciting one, to be sure because I have not been under 200 pounds since I was a teenager and I'm 47 now.
Good luck to you all, and I look forward to getting to know each of you as time goes by.
Love,
Katherine
Hi Katherine,
You and I share the same surgery date. I'm 8 weeks out and down 26 lbs since surgery (76 total) and feel wonderful. My exercise up to this point has been walking (per doctor's orders), but now can incorporate the bike and the pool if I want. I feel great too and was lucky with no complications. I can't believe how quickly I bounced back from surgery. It has been a true miracle for me.
