Definitely doesn't have to be water. Was told that it had to be caffeine free to count as fluids. So I do sugar free snow cones, Propel Water, crystal light, sometimes broth (not normally tho), V-8 juice, tomato juice and water. Water is my primary by choice, but the others help to provide variety. Herbal tea (no caffeine in it) or decaf ice tea or decaf regular tea should work too.
I'm a big fan too of Barbara Thompson's book ... Weight Loss Surgery: Finding the thin person hiding inside you. On Pg 187 she has written: Drink Water - Be sure to drink at least 64 ounces of water, or non-carbonated, caffeine free liquid per day. Do not drink carbonated beverages.
