Elina ... don't panic!!! Our bodies need to rest at time and regroup. Keep doing high protein, lots of fluids, exercise. It will kick back in very soon. Congrats on your weight loss. You are doing GREAT. Mary

Please don't get upset. It happens. I sat at a stand still for almost 3 weeks before it kicked back it. I had surgery on 2/23/04 and so far I have 56 pounds. But it takes time. I increased my protein intake and walked more. And drink pleanty of fluids. I know you might be tired of water so try crystal light and kool-aid are invent your own. Do you use sugar free things and Splenda for a sugar substance. And how is your eating? It all counts. If you can try to eat once every 2 hours just a little something and walk and everything else I metioned and your loss should kick back in to effect withing a couple of days of this. HUGS, Sherry

Elina: Hang in there. You will probably loose inches while your weight isn't dropping on the scale. Sometimes we rely way too much on the scale numbers and not enough on how much better we feel. No matter what, keep doing all the things your surgeon has told you to do. 49 pounds since Feb!!! Awesome!!! Remember when we dieted using traditional methods? 1 1/2 pounds a week was considered a great success. We are really shaking our bodies up by dropping all this weight so quickly. Your body needs to readjust. Be patient. Before you know it you'll be dropping again. Do something special (unfood related) for yourself today, you deserve it. Eileen

elena - i understand. my surgery was on 2/10 and i have lost 61 pounds. however, i only lost four pounds in the last three weeks. my surgeon told me that it was good because i had lost so fast and that my body needed to catch up. i think that's right. plus, although i haven't lost that much weight, i've lost inches and inches. i started walking and i think that helped so much! keep the faith!

Be patient. It will come off. Who cares if you don't lose for a few days or a few weeks -- it will come off. Just think you may be 100 pounds lighter by Christmas than you were just a few weeks ago. You have done an awesome job! Keep up the good work! RNY - 03/01/04 (285)258/219/130

Elina, I stayed on a plateau for 10 days and exercised more, drank plenty of fluids and concentrated on getting in my proteins...suddenly, it took off again. While I didn't lose lbs. I still lost inches. Best wishes, Rusty 244/198/155(gastric surgeon's goal)/135(ortho surgeon's goal)
