Have any of the women here, heard of or practice binding. It is said that it is suppose to help with the elasticity of the skin and reduce the overage of skin. Are they talking about girdles here? I dont have girdles, but I do have several corsets I will be able to get back into in a week or two. Anybody hear anything on this? Thanks Robin Lap RnY 02/18/04 252~222~120 stuck at 30 pounds

Robin, I've never heard of this practice. Many surgeons request that a patient wear a "binder" after surgery. My surgeon requires that I wear mine for 2 months following surgery (only 1 more week to go). It helps keep the incision together (I had open RNY) during healing process. Also helps prevent hernias too. It does nothing tho to prevent skin sagging etc. If you do a search on google.com , using surgical binder you will see many photos of the binder. It is very stretchy and has velcro closures. Mary
